Street Fighter Lore — Part 5: Street Fighter V and the Conclusion of the Shadaloo Saga

Alright, this marks the concluding segment of the ongoing Street Fighter saga, which began with Street Fighter 1. The story progresses through the Alpha Series, then Street Fighter 2, followed by 4, and now reaches its conclusion with Street Fighter 5. This entire narrative wraps up the Shadaloo saga. Afterward, we move "back" to Street Fighter 3, which chronologically takes place after the events of Street Fighter 5. Street Fighter 3 serves as a sort of reboot, introducing entirely new villains and protagonists.

Overview of the game's storyline:

The story happens between the events of the Street Fighter IV series and the Street Fighter III series. Years after he gave his life to stop M. Bison, Charlie Nash wakes up in a tomb. A woman named Helen tells him to get an item from his old friend Guile that will help destroy Bison. At the same time, the Shadaloo group starts a secret plan called "Operation C.H.A.I.N.S" by launching seven artificial satellites called the "Black Moons" into orbit. Rashid sneaks into Shadaloo's main base to find a friend who was kidnapped. He is found and beaten by F.A.N.G, who steals a chess piece-like item from Rashid and uses it to blow up one of the Black Moons. This causes a big electromagnetic pulse that throws New York City into chaos.

Guile and Chun-Li try to stop M. Bison and his team in New York but fail. Then Charlie attacks them to take the pieces they have and runs away. Charlie meets Helen again, who convinces Rashid and Juri to join them. They want to get all the pieces to stop Operation C.H.A.I.N.S. Helen explains that the pieces hold the keys to control the Black Moons. They were given to certain people to keep them safe. Shadaloo wants to use the Moons to spread fear and sadness worldwide. This fear is the source of Bison's Psycho Power. Shadaloo plans to take this energy to make Bison and his forces unbeatable.

Karin Kanzuki learns the same information and calls fighters from around the world to help collect the pieces before Shadaloo does. Everyone answers except Ryu. He stays behind to train more so he can control his Satsui no Hadou, as Ken advises.

As the fighters search the world for the pieces, they are attacked many times by Necalli, an ancient Aztec fighting god. Necalli appears in times of crisis to fight the strongest fighters and eat their souls. They are also attacked by Shadaloo's minions and brainwashed Dolls. In one fight, Cammy beats and captures her sister Decapre. But since Decapre was just controlled by Shadaloo, Cammy refuses to give her to the police and escapes with her, helped by Juri.

After collecting all the pieces and more allies, the fighters attack Shadaloo's base. They manage to turn off the Black Moons but cannot beat M. Bison and his forces, so they have to run away. F.A.N.G then threatens a young girl who was forced to help make the Black Moons. He wants her to change their path so they fall to Earth, hitting six big cities in 24 hours. This would cause enough chaos to get the Psycho Power they need.

As the world faces disaster from the falling Black Moons, Ryu returns from training and defeats Necalli, forcing him to leave for good. Ryu then joins the others for a second attack on Shadaloo's base. Rashid stops the Black Moons completely using a clue from his missing friend, but he finds out she was killed by F.A.N.G long ago, which makes him sad. Charlie fights M. Bison but cannot win. He sacrifices himself to take some of Bison's Psycho Power and weaken him. Ryu then destroys Bison for good. Chun-Li saves the young girl, and the fighters leave Shadaloo's base as it falls apart. The brainwashed Dolls wake up and are free. Rashid gets a recorded message from his dead friend, thanking him for saving the world and telling him to move on with his life.

During the credits, Helen, whose real name is Kolin, talks with her master. He says that even though Bison was not destroyed the way they wanted, now their group must lead the world to bring back balance. After the credits, Ken and Ryu have a sparring match and say their journey to get better will never end.

Okay, now let's dive into the characters' storylines. Again, I will first introduce the basic roster, and then I will add the DLC characters from the updated version of the game.

In his story, Birdie is shown leaving Shadaloo, tired of them and ignoring F.A.N.G, who caused him to leave. After escaping and fighting Chun-Li, who wanted to question him, he ends up at the Kanzuki Estate. There, he fights Karin and impresses her with his skills. When she asks why he left Shadaloo, Birdie, while enjoying a big meal, says he "didn't like how they handled business." The last straw was their new dress code, especially being forced to wear a hat that hid his hair. Karin offers Birdie to stay at the Estate as her guest to test her leadership — if he betrays her, it means she is not worthy. He agrees quickly when he learns it means free food anytime. Karin then challenges him to fight one hundred of her bodyguards, which shocks him.

A Shadow Falls
Birdie has a small part in the main story. He is first seen eating chicken legs when the first Black Moon explodes over New York, cutting power and signals. Later, Birdie holds März captive while other fighters get keys for the Black Moons at the Kanzuki Estate after being captured by Karin. März escapes after Birdie is defeated by Aprile and Noembelu. Birdie joins the second attack on the Shadaloo base, fighting Février. He complains she uses guns, and she points out he uses chains as weapons. He is with the other fighters when the base explodes, meeting Ryu and Chun-Li, who escaped after beating M. Bison.

Prologue - 'The Path of a Yogi'

In his story, a police officer named Mahesh looks for Dhalsim and asks him to teach yoga. When Dhalsim asks why, Mahesh says he wants to be strong enough to protect his people like Dhalsim does. But Dhalsim says yoga is not for strength or fighting; it is for spreading peace and understanding. Mahesh is surprised, but Dhalsim agrees to train him. Before they start, Rashid and Azam arrive.

Rashid is excited to meet one of the "seven yoga masters you must meet," as he read online. Dhalsim is confused by this, and Mahesh angrily tells them Dhalsim is busy. Rashid asks to spar with Dhalsim because he wants to get stronger. But Rashid cannot improve and likely loses. Before leaving, he asks if Dhalsim has seen his friend, but Dhalsim has not. Rashid and Azam then leave.

A little later, while showing his flames to Mahesh, Dhalsim is visited by Oro, who says Dhalsim's powers are strange. Mahesh is surprised and asks if Oro knows yoga, since he is floating like Dhalsim. Oro laughs and says Mahesh has a lot to learn. Dhalsim is shocked to see Oro, an old hermit he knew before. Oro says he came because he sensed interesting people here. He asks why Dhalsim is training a new student instead of improving his own skills. Dhalsim says his main goal is to bring harmony, and improving himself is secondary. Oro jokes that Dhalsim hasn't changed and, sensing another interesting person nearby, decides to leave. He says goodbye and tells Dhalsim to make him curry next time they meet.

Mahesh tries to breathe fire but fails. Dhalsim tells him he is too impatient. Their lesson is cut short again, this time by R. Mika. Mika introduces herself and says she wants to learn to breathe fire to help her wrestling and excite the crowd. Dhalsim agrees, but Mika cannot breathe fire. Dhalsim encourages her not to give up because she has the passion to light her flame one day. Mika leaves happily. Mahesh finally breathes a small flame. Dhalsim tells him not to worry and that he will teach him as long as needed.

Other story appearances

In Necalli's story, the "Warrior Prophet," an Aztec warrior-priest from "Ancient Altar," predicts that in the next 'Hour of Battle,' Necalli will fight and consume the soul of Dhalsim, called "The one who serves the God of Fire."

In Karin's story, Dhalsim starts teaching Mahesh how to teleport but is surprised by a visit from Karin, her butler Shibazaki, and Birdie. Karin came looking for Oro, who had been in India days before. Dhalsim tells her Oro left a few days ago. Karin then challenges Dhalsim. After a long match with no clear winner, they praise each other's skills — Dhalsim's yoga and Karin's "pure fist." Dhalsim then teleports away to continue teaching.

Street Fighter V Side Story: Musings on a Still Night

One evening, Oro visits Dhalsim's home for dinner and a friendly talk. They discuss the meaning of power in martial arts and street fighting. Oro helps Dhalsim relax and shows examples of ki and the Satsui no Hado. Oro explains that these powers, though different, come from the same source. Even though Satsui no Hado and Psycho Power seem evil, they have a neutral side and can be used for good. Oro compares these powers to the sea and sky, or fish and birds that can enter both. He says calling something evil can make it stronger through ignorance. Oro leaves Dhalsim with the lesson that knowledge of power should be used for good, especially when evil tries to misuse it.

Somehow brought back to life after being declared dead by the Air Force, Nash became completely focused on killing the man who killed him before: M. Bison.

**Prologue - 'The Man Who Lost It All'**

Charlie's prologue starts with him thinking to himself that "a man's worst loss is always losing himself." He wakes up in a cave, coming out of a stone coffin, and is greeted by a woman named Helen, who is happy to see he is alive. She tells him he was badly hurt and asks if he remembers who did it. He remembers and, in a flashback, says he will take down Bison.

Guile tries to stop him, saying Charlie is not ready for duty and wants him to join the mission. But Charlie is determined to stop Shadaloo and knows Guile has a family to care for, so he refuses and insists on fighting Bison alone. Guile thinks Charlie is not thinking clearly but does not stop him.

Back in the present, Helen sees Charlie's memories coming back and asks what happened when he fought Bison. Charlie says he tried to catch Bison, but the backup helicopter fired at him, and Bison threw him into a waterfall. Helen tells him the helicopter was flown by US military members under Bison's command, and Charlie was thought to be missing and dead.

When Charlie learns Bison is still alive, he asks Helen if she knows where he is. Helen says she doesn't know but has other useful information. She tells Charlie to think about it and gives him a few days to travel and catch up on what happened while he was gone.

A few days later, he meets Ed. Knowing Ed is with Shadaloo, Charlie grabs him and demands to know where Bison is. Ed shows his Psycho Powers from his right hand and mocks Charlie for being a dead man. They are interrupted by F.A.N.G, who wants to take Ed with him. After a short fight, F.A.N.G leaves with Ed, using poison gas to escape and saying he found the whole thing annoying.

Back in Russia a few days later, Charlie agrees to help Helen, and she tells him to start. While thinking about Chun-Li, Guile, and Cammy, he repeats his earlier words: "a man's worst loss is losing himself. But only he can overcome himself." From then on, Charlie's only goal is to kill Bison, and he won't let anyone stop him.

**In a Shadow Falls**

In Charlie's dream, he sees a lone sheep under the darkness. The sheep transforms into Necalli, who attacks him, trying to devour his spirit — until an unexpected butterfly sparks a flashing blue light. Charlie finally wakes up in an ancient cave, finding himself in a coffin tended by Helen (referencing his character story). He recalls the time he faced Bison and was killed by him during the events of *Alpha 2*.

He glares to see a Phantom Bison struggling to stand and walk out of the cave despite his injuries, ignoring Helen's concern. As Phantom Bison appears behind him, Charlie fights Bison, angrily hitting him with his Sonic Boom — but it has no effect. Nash, weighed down by his injuries, watches as Bison smirks evilly and then fades into a purple light.

Helen is amazed that Charlie remembers so much of his Air Force training despite being out of practice and recently dead. She gives him a mission: to collect a set of white symbolic chess pieces, providing a picture of the person holding the next piece. To Charlie's surprise, the picture is of his best friend, Guile. Helen tells him he must take Guile's piece if he wants to stop Shadaloo, and Charlie reluctantly sets off after his target.

Charlie finds and confronts Guile, Cammy, and Chun-Li — the latter still injured from Bison's earlier attack. Shocked to see Nash but unsure if it's really him due to his unnatural look and cold gaze, Guile tells the two women to stay back and adopts a fighting stance. Charlie overpowers Guile as he tries to hit him with a Sonic Boom. Charlie raises his left hand to block but ends up absorbing the projectile, surprised by the change in his body.

Just then, Rashid and his attendant Azam emerge from hiding, also after the chess pieces. Chun-Li battles Rashid but loses her piece to him. Meanwhile, Nash grabs Guile's piece and escapes to meet Helen.

Charlie and Rashid cross paths again in an underground arena in Russia, revealing they were both recruited by Helen to stop Shadaloo's plan. Juri Han, another recruit, appears unimpressed with Helen's team and tests Rashid in a brief fight. Helen interrupts to explain that the chess pieces are actually control keys for Shadaloo's seven Black Moons, which fuel Bison's Psycho Power — giving him enough strength to rule the world.

As Rashid questions Helen's true identity, Urien, Helen's superior, shows up, skeptical that her team-building will amount to much. He decides to test Nash himself, wanting to see if the “creation” his tech helped with is more than “an average puppet.” After easily defeating Nash, Urien tries to land a final blow, but Rashid steps in to save him. When Urien storms off, Helen tells the others that Charlie was long dead and his body is weak. She places her finger on the green gem on Charlie's forehead, which glows and seems to restore some of his strength.

When asked about her real motives, Helen finally admits she hates Bison but is devoted to a different, more suitable world leader, convincing Nash, Juri, and Rashid to stop Shadaloo's final plan.

During the first infiltration of Shadaloo's main base, Charlie confronts Bison, hellbent on revenge. But he's no match for Bison and only escapes with his “life” thanks to Necalli's intrusion. Rashid and Azam find Charlie, who's visibly in pain. When Rashid mentions his missing friend, Charlie is shocked — his conscience and calmer side reawakened by the reminder of his own friends. He asks Rashid more about the missing friend until Necalli reappears, hunting their souls after failing to capture Bison's. They escape via Karin's helicopter, with Charlie hanging from the doorway until Guile grabs his hand and pulls him in.

At the Kanzuki Estate, Guile is relieved to see Charlie alive. They try to restrain a brainwashed Abel, consumed by Psycho Power. Guile holds him back while Charlie absorbs the power into himself, freeing Abel from its control. As Charlie leaves to regroup with Rashid and Azam, Guile returns his military dog tag, rekindling their friendship. Abel recognizes Nash and is shocked to see him go.

Helen arrives to join Rashid, Juri, and now Cammy, happily announcing that thanks to a phone transmission from a missing hacker forced to work for Shadaloo — relaying a message from Rashid's friend — she now has a way to stop the Black Moons. She tells Charlie he'll get his chance to kill Bison. Charlie shakes his head, saying killing Bison is beyond him but his friends might manage it. This enrages Helen, who says she made many sacrifices to ensure Charlie would stop Bison, using the power given to him by her lord, even mentioning a prophecy. Nash points out that since he's already dead, his power can't match Bison's, which keeps growing through the Black Moons. Helen taunts him, saying he's not immortal and his decay is imminent — there are no second chances for a “filthy dead man” like him. But Charlie already knows this and what he must do, walking away as Rashid follows.

In the final assault on Shadaloo, Charlie and Rashid infiltrate the base. Charlie moves to stop Operation C.H.A.I.N.S. He finds Guile, Chun-Li, and Ryu confronted by Bison. As Bison ascends the Lair of the Four Kings, Charlie tells his friends to wait, glances down with a pleased look, then chases after Bison for their fated rematch.

Though Charlie defeats Bison, it's in vain — Bison is regenerated by the Black Moons' power. Rashid shuts down the Black Moons, but Charlie knows it's too late. Bison strikes him, but Charlie reveals this was his plan all along: to get Bison as close as possible. Charlie absorbs Bison's Psycho Power with his hand. Bison accuses him of trying to kill himself, which Charlie finds funny since he's already dead. He glows brightly as Guile calls his name, realizing he can't hold it, but Nash keeps absorbing more until his body overflows with power — and then explodes.

As his body bursts, his dog tag falls to the ground. Bison emerges unharmed, but Guile and Chun-Li notice his Psycho Power is now greatly reduced, no longer as overwhelmingly strong. Ultimately, M. Bison is defeated by Ryu; Charlie Nash knowingly sacrificed himself to weaken Bison enough for Ryu, now mastering his Hado, to finish the job.

Though it's heavily implied Charlie's sacrifice meant his death — witnessed by Guile — his status is officially unknown, leaving room for another fate. In the Arcade Mode ending, his body is shown intact, supporting the “Unknown” status.

Three years later, Cammy remembers meeting Decapre, who attacked her angrily because of her strong hatred. She also recalls that she hurt many people in the past but now wants to protect them. Later, her boss contacts her and says Shadaloo is moving.

While traveling through India, Cammy meets Birdie. After she beats him, Birdie recognizes her as one of Bison's dolls from when he was part of Shadaloo. The police arrive, and Birdie escapes, but Cammy is caught.

At the Shadaloo base, F.A.N.G attacks Cammy because she left Shadaloo. During their fight, Cammy asks about Decapre, then changes her question to ask about all of Bison's dolls. F.A.N.G mocks her for wanting to protect the dolls and reminds her of her past as a killer. Before she can ask more, Shadaloo soldiers surround her. F.A.N.G talks about "Operation C.H.A.I.N.S." and warns her that if she gets involved, he will kill her without mercy. Cammy runs away.

Back in London, Cammy meets Juni again and sees that Juni is allowed to go outside. While they talk about cats, Shadaloo traps them. Vega attacks Cammy just as Juni notices Vega's claw looks like Decapre's. Cammy fights Vega to protect Juni. After Cammy wins, Vega retreats, seeing how dangerous she is. Juni worries about Cammy because she remembers what F.A.N.G said about the operation. Cammy decides to stop Shadaloo and save the other dolls. Juni supports her and tells her to come back after she saves them. As Cammy leaves, Juri is shown watching everything while spying on her.

**Street Fighter V: A Shadow Falls**

Cammy first appears near the end of Act One. After easily beating Chun-Li, M. Bison charges his hand with Psycho Power, ready to finish her. But before he can strike, Cammy rushes in and saves Chun-Li by tackling her out of danger. Chun-Li opens her eyes and is relieved to see Cammy. Together with Guile, Cammy helps Chun-Li escape. F.A.N.G is about to chase them, but M. Bison lets them go, smirking as the scene ends.

That night, the three meet again in a damaged part of the city with some cars on fire. Cammy tells Guile she has been after Shadaloo since the Black Moons appeared and confirms they caused the destruction in New York. She scolds Chun-Li, who is still hurt, for losing control in the earlier fight. Cammy says the control keys for the Black Moons were stolen from Shadaloo, so not all of them can be activated. She wonders if someone betrayed Bison or if a spy got inside Shadaloo. Guile and Chun-Li think it might be linked to missing hackers of different ages, genders, and nationalities who disappeared before the Black Moons showed up. Cammy asks if the hackers were forced to build the Black Moons for Shadaloo.

As Chun-Li recovers, Cammy pulls out a package another Interpol agent tried to send to Chun-Li before being attacked by Shadaloo. Chun-Li opens it, and Guile says it looks like one he has in his pocket. Suddenly, they see Charlie Nash, who looks mutilated and stitched together, walking toward them. Rashid and his butler Azam appear happily from the other side. Guile confronts Charlie, while Rashid introduces himself and tries to take the piece from Chun-Li. Cammy tries to help, but Azam stops her. Rashid defeats Chun-Li and takes the piece, then he and Azam leave in a mini-tornado. Cammy shields her face from the debris as they escape.

Later, Cammy goes to the Kanzuki Estate. Karin and Shibasaki got a master list of people who received pieces and who else might have access to it. Cammy shares what she found, saying the Black Moons were made by Shadaloo using kidnapped hackers. She thinks the pieces were made by hackers. Cammy reports that Guile is in contact with a spy inside Shadaloo to get more information.

Cammy and Karin are soon attacked by März, Decapre, and Shadaloo soldiers. Karin captures März, while Cammy defeats the soldiers and Decapre. Before Cammy can help Decapre, the Doll's head hurts. Cammy watches worried as Decapre recovers and escapes from the rooftop. Though Cammy stopped Shadaloo from getting the control pieces, she feels guilty for not saving Decapre.

Everyone gathers to find the missing chess pieces. Cammy helps Chun-Li and Ken go to Brazil. Before they leave, Cammy and Chun-Li watch Ken play with his son, Mel. Cammy thinks Ken should stay to protect his family. Chun-Li says some battles can't be avoided, especially when you have someone to protect, like her father. Cammy apologizes for reminding Chun-Li of her father's death. The idea of family confuses Cammy since she has none. Karin arrives and says the others have left.

In Brazil, Cammy and Chun-Li arrive after Ken rescues Sean Matsuda from F.A.N.G. Ken asks Sean for one of the pieces, and Sean agrees. As Sean gets the piece, Cammy sees a Shadaloo guard's body flying toward him. Ken and Chun-Li kick the body away just as Laura arrives. Cammy watches the Matsuda siblings as Laura greets her brother with submission holds. Cammy asks Chun-Li if their bond is a normal sibling relationship.

After Laura fights Ken and joins the group, they face Decapre, who is controlled by Psycho Power. Cammy realizes Decapre is being controlled and remembers the Doll's pain. She sees mental images of Decapre suffering with a Black Moon nearby and tries to understand the cause. Before Laura can fight Decapre, Cammy steps in to see if Decapre is an enemy. Cammy defeats Decapre, who loses consciousness.

Sean returns with the police to arrest Decapre. Chun-Li, who knows law enforcement, suggests letting the police handle her. Cammy looks at Decapre and remembers when they were separated as children and Decapre called her sister. When the police order Cammy to hand over Decapre, Cammy's protective side kicks in, and she knocks down an officer. One officer fires at Cammy, but she quickly carries Decapre away. Determined to save her, Cammy fights and defeats the officer.

Before another officer can shoot, Juri arrives on her motorbike and knocks the police aside. She offers Cammy a ride and says she can repay her with Decapre. Juri removes Decapre's mask, showing her burned face. Juri laughs at how Cammy's care for the Dolls made them fugitives. As a fugitive herself, Cammy knows she must act fast and decides to go with Juri. She carries Decapre and gets on the bike. As they ride away, Vega watches with a stalker's interest, obsessed with capturing Cammy for Shadaloo and maybe possessing her.

At Union Station, Cammy sees Decapre waking in pain. Psycho Power takes over the Doll, and she starts choking Cammy. Juri criticizes Cammy for risking everything to save Decapre. Cammy climbs on top of Decapre to hold her down, but Decapre keeps punching her. Juri suggests killing Decapre since she seems beyond help. Just as Decapre tries to attack with her daggers, Cammy catches the attack and knocks her out. Juri laughs while Cammy looks at Decapre with sadness.

Suddenly, Vega arrives and fights Cammy. She gets up to defend herself. Vega notices the unconscious Decapre and laughs, saying she still has a role to play. He attacks Cammy. As she defends herself, Vega admires how her past pain makes her beauty stronger. He fights her to see this new side of her.

After beating Cammy, Vega flatters her. But Juri interrupts, calling Vega a pervert. Juri says Cammy belongs to her since she found her first. Vega says Juri lacks grace, and they start fighting. Cammy wakes up and sees Vega near Decapre. She quickly kicks Vega's mask off, making him retreat. Seeing Cammy protect Decapre, he leaves.

Cammy stays with Helen for Decapre's sake. She hears a message from Li-Fen saying she has a way to stop the Black Moons. Charlie admits he can't defeat Bison, which upsets Helen. She demands he kill Bison soon. Charlie agrees and leaves.

Later, Cammy joins the final attack on Shadaloo. She is shocked to find all the Dolls controlled by F.A.N.G. Cammy fights Juli, who is filled with Psycho Power. Juli rushes at her in anger, but Cammy defeats her and knocks her out.

As Cammy approaches Juli's body, Vega attacks again. Cammy lowers her guard as Vega talks about her eyes and his wish to fill them with despair. She tries to fight back but is no match. Vega hits her stomach with his claw and demands she surrender so he can "see more beauty," then moves to finish her.

Before he can, Decapre saves Cammy by blocking Vega's claw. Vega is surprised Decapre is free from control. Juri arrives, almost crashing her bike into the group. The bike slides away and explodes. Juri challenges Vega, saying "everyone is having a lot of fun." Cammy looks at Decapre, wondering why she saved her. Juri says Decapre wants to help but is also a bit jealous. Vega and Juri fight.

Meanwhile, Cammy and Decapre are surrounded by the other Dolls. They prepare to fight their "sisters" still controlled by F.A.N.G. Rashid destroys the device controlling the Dolls during the fight. After Cammy and Decapre defeat the others, the Psycho Power disappears. The Dolls wake up, and Shadaloo guards try to capture Cammy. But the Dolls, now free, protect her. The "sisters" are reunited.

Cammy is last seen with Juri and the other Dolls watching Shadaloo fall.

The prologue happens after the events of A Shadow Falls, where Chun-Li successfully saves Li-Fen from Shadaloo. In a quiet moment, Li-Fen finds Chun-Li's old hair ribbons, which she kept from when she was a new cop. This brings back memories, and Chun-Li begins to tell Li-Fen about her past, taking them both back to the Pre-Alpha time.

In a clear flashback, Chun-Li is trying to catch Vega in China. During their fight, Vega comments on her great kicks and mentions someone who mastered the same fighting style. Chun-Li realizes he means her father and asks about him, which starts a tough fight between them. Vega scratches Chun-Li's arm but then escapes.

Chun-Li keeps chasing Vega and follows a clue to Russia, where he was seen. There, she meets Guile and Nash, who see how determined she is. Nash challenges her to a fight to test her skills and wins. Guile then says that if she finds Vega, he and Nash should go with her.

Back in China, they find Vega with some Shadaloo soldiers and Birdie. Guile and Nash fight the soldiers while Chun-Li faces Vega again. After a hard fight, she beats him and tries to arrest him, but Vega escapes in a helicopter. He promises they will meet again and says he knows about her father's death.

Thinking about this, Chun-Li knows she shouldn't go alone and thanks Guile and Nash for helping her.

In the present, Chun-Li gently puts the ribbons on Li-Fen's ox-horn hairstyle. Li-Fen wants to be as strong as Chun-Li, and they begin training together.

A Shadow Falls

In the main story, Chun-Li teams up with Guile to investigate a blackout in New York caused by the Black Moons made by M. Bison. When they face M. Bison and the other Heavenly Kings, Chun-Li fights Bison without thinking because of her grudge. Bison, powered up by the Black Moons, beats Chun-Li and blasts her onto the street with a strong Psycho Blast. While Guile fights Vega, Bison gets ready to finish Chun-Li, but Cammy arrives just in time to save her. Cammy helps the injured Chun-Li retreat with Guile.

Later that evening, Cammy, Chun-Li, and Guile talk about missing hackers and how they might be linked to the Shadaloo keys. Chun-Li is still hurt from her fight with Bison. As she tries to stand, she falls back to her knees, holding her side. Cammy gives Chun-Li a package with one of the pieces inside. Suddenly, they see Charlie Nash. Guile goes to talk to him, leaving Chun-Li and Cammy with Rashid and Azam. Rashid catches Chun-Li's attention and then attacks her for her piece. Chun-Li, still hurt, loses to Rashid. The star-shaped key flies away as she is kicked. Rashid takes the piece and leaves before Chun-Li can get up.

Chun-Li is asked by Karin Kanzuki to help find out that the pieces are keys to the Black Moons and stopping Shadaloo's plan. She teams up with Ken Masters and Cammy to find Laura in Brazil. After Ken fights F.A.N.G, Chun-Li sees Sean from the Matsuda Family and asks him about the piece he gave to Laura. Ken spars with Laura and gets the piece. Decapre appears but falls unconscious. Police come to arrest Decapre. Ken and Chun-Li try to calm things down, but Cammy attacks the police to protect Decapre and escapes with Juri on a motorcycle, making herself and Decapre fugitives. As Juri rides away with Cammy and Decapre, Ken and Laura fight off Shadaloo soldiers while Chun-Li rushes to the Shadaloo Base.

When Chun-Li first enters Shadaloo, soldiers ambush her. Dhalsim teleports in and knocks them out. He gives Chun-Li a Black Moon piece and stays to fight more soldiers with a Yoga Flame. Inside, Chun-Li finds Li-Fen, a kidnapped hacker. Chun-Li asks Li-Fen to escape with her, but Li-Fen runs away, wanting to finish her mission.

Chun-Li meets Karin at a control panel. They break down a steel door. F.A.N.G arrives, but Karin holds him off so Chun-Li can shut down the Black Moons. F.A.N.G leaves, promising one last trick. Abel, working inside Shadaloo, meets Karin and Chun-Li. Meanwhile, F.A.N.G uses Li-Fen to start the "Descent Program," which will drop the Black Moons from orbit to explode and cause worldwide destruction. The program also triggers Psycho Power in Abel, making him lose control in rage.

Chun-Li and Karin escape the base. Zangief appears and stops Abel with a Spinning Piledriver, knocking him out. Chun-Li boards a helicopter with Karin and the fighters, including Nash, as they leave the Shadaloo base.

At the Kanzuki estate, Nash and Guile take Psycho Power from Abel. Chun-Li checks on Abel while Nash, Rashid, and Azam return to their base. Ryu arrives after beating Necalli, and Chun-Li is happy to see him. He joins them for a final attack on Shadaloo.

When they return, Chun-Li and the fighters jump from the helicopter into the Shadaloo base. A big fight breaks out between Karin's team and Shadaloo soldiers. Chun-Li fights guards and sees Shadaloo Dolls powered by the Black Moons join the fight. Karin fights Enero while Chun-Li rushes into the base with Guile and Ryu.

Rashid stops the Descent Program. Ryu, Chun-Li, and Guile find M. Bison. Before Chun-Li can fight, she sees a scared Li-Fen still captive. Nash fights Bison first but is too weak. He sacrifices himself by taking in Bison's extra Psycho Power to weaken him, then self-destructs. Chun-Li and Guile watch helplessly as Nash dies. She stops Guile from going near the blast. After the dust clears, Bison is still standing, stepping on Nash's dog tags. But Chun-Li and Guile feel Bison is weaker.

Soon after, F.A.N.G appears, angry and alive. He attacks Chun-Li with poison hands, but she dodges and hits him with a Hakkei palm strike. F.A.N.G tries to kill Li-Fen, but Chun-Li saves her with a Tenshin Shushu move. Chun-Li comforts the scared girl. She sees F.A.N.G getting up and tells Ryu to fight Bison while she fights F.A.N.G. Overcome by rage, Chun-Li easily defeats F.A.N.G, who falls unconscious.

After Ryu beats Bison, they escape the base with Li-Fen and Guile. Chun-Li hesitates, looking back at Bison's cap. She feels both relief and worry, as her long quest to avenge her father seems to end. Then she runs to catch up, carrying Li-Fen and dodging falling debris. When fire from the explosion comes close, Ryu uses a Denjin Hadoken to stop it, letting Chun-Li and Li-Fen escape. The Shadaloo base falls and is buried under lava. Chun-Li barely escapes, carrying Li-Fen on her back, with Ryu and Guile beside her.

F.A.N.G was the new leader of the Nguuhao, one of the biggest cartels in Asia, known for kidnapping children and training them to be assassins. F.A.N.G was one of those children. He was forced to learn the Poison Hand by being exposed to poison in controlled ways, hoping he could turn the poisons in his body into a weapon. He grew up in extreme poverty to learn the harshness of the criminal world and the streets. Many children around him died, but F.A.N.G became the strongest Poison Hand user in the cartel, earning the nickname "the Fang of the Nguuhao." Along with three other survivors he called his brothers, they helped each other survive and became professional assassins in Asia's underworld. It is suggested later that F.A.N.G's first job as an assassin was to kill his three brothers, which he did using an old Nguuhao dagger.

In his story 'Predator and Prey', F.A.N.G became well-known enough to be sent on a mission to kill M. Bison with help from other Nguuhao assassins, who feared and hated him. F.A.N.G pretended to join Shadaloo to lower Bison's guard, but when they attacked, Bison easily defeated them because he was immune to their poisons. The other assassins were killed one by one, but F.A.N.G kept fighting, driven by a strong will to live. After killing all the other assassins, Bison spared F.A.N.G when he tried to surrender. Bison told him he didn't want loyalty but power, and that being useful would give him a place in Shadaloo. F.A.N.G grew to respect and follow Bison because of his power and wisdom. He rose through Shadaloo's ranks, becoming one of the Four Heavenly Kings and leading research and administration. He helped create the Dolls project and played a key role in planning Shadaloo's latest world takeover plan: Operation C.H.A.I.N.S.

F.A.N.G caused Birdie to leave Shadaloo because of strict dress rules, which would have made Birdie wear a hat over his hair. In M. Bison's story, F.A.N.G and the other Four Kings meet with some Dolls (Enero, Xiayu, and Jianyu) to talk about their work. When Bison sees C. Viper spying on them, F.A.N.G scolds her. In Cammy's story, he recognizes her old codename, Killer Bee, and warns her about Operation C.H.A.I.N.S., saying he will kill her if she gets in the way. In Nash's story, F.A.N.G interrupts a fight between Nash and Ed, then escapes using poison. In Alex's story, F.A.N.G kidnaps Alex and forces him to fight in a lab against fake fighters. When Alex's strength starts breaking the lab, F.A.N.G knocks him out and sends him back, with Alex thinking it was a dream. In Vega's story, F.A.N.G talks about making the Dolls stronger, but Vega calls him pathetic. They fight briefly before a low-ranking Shadaloo soldier shows them where Cammy and Juni are. F.A.N.G plans to turn Juni back into a Doll and calls her "006." Vega leaves to find them, insulting F.A.N.G's plans, which makes him angry. In Guile's story, F.A.N.G fights Abel (a disguised Shadaloo soldier) and nearly kills him, but Guile interrupts. F.A.N.G escapes with poison and warns Guile he will pay for interfering. In Balrog's story, F.A.N.G confronts him about possibly betraying Shadaloo and about Ed. They fight, but F.A.N.G leaves for another mission. In Juri's story, F.A.N.G attacks her for entering the Shadaloo base and insulting him, forcing her to retreat.

**A Shadow Falls**

The story follows F.A.N.G's plan to help M. Bison and Shadaloo take over the world. Using seven huge artificial Black Moons and kidnapped researchers and hackers, Operation C.H.A.I.N.S. is meant to spread fear worldwide and make Bison's power unbeatable. F.A.N.G first appears killing "The Usher," a hacker and friend of Rashid, for betraying Shadaloo and Bison. To start Operation C.H.A.I.N.S., F.A.N.G needs keys to control the Black Moons, but The Usher scattered them around the world. F.A.N.G finds the first key after catching Rashid sneaking into a Shadaloo base. He defeats Rashid, takes the key, and activates one of the moons, causing a huge electromagnetic pulse that shuts down all of New York. F.A.N.G arrives in New York with the other Shadaloo Kings, celebrating and annoying them with his arrogance. He is responsible for re-calibrating the Dolls and says the goal of Operation C.H.A.I.N.S. is to spread fear and despair so Bison can feed on it and grow stronger. F.A.N.G has Balrog and Vega fight two Psycho Power-enhanced Shadaloo soldiers, but the World Warriors arrive to fight Bison. F.A.N.G wants to chase them but Bison stops him.

F.A.N.G keeps searching for the missing keys and goes to Brazil. While looking for Laura, who has a key, he finds out her brother Sean has it. He threatens Sean until Ken suddenly saves him by knocking F.A.N.G away. F.A.N.G is upset but ready to fight when a soldier tells him Shadaloo's base was infiltrated. He quickly escapes using poison clouds.

At the Shadaloo base, F.A.N.G fights Chun-Li and Karin, who try to stop the Black Moons. Karin holds him off long enough for Chun-Li to shut down the program. F.A.N.G warns them he will start a backup plan that can't be stopped. He forces hacker Li-Fen to start the Black Moons' descent program, sending them to crash into Earth, which would cause huge damage. Necalli appears, and F.A.N.G wants to fight him, but Bison calms him, saying everything is going as planned and he will fight Necalli instead. After Bison beats Necalli, F.A.N.G attacks Bison, forcing Necalli to retreat as black sludge.

When the World Warriors attack the Shadaloo base, F.A.N.G is there as Bison charges his Psycho Power. Later, F.A.N.G activates a self-destruct on the Dolls when they start losing. Rashid sneaks into the control room and stops Operation C.H.A.I.N.S. using a loophole made by his missing hacker friend, which makes F.A.N.G very angry. F.A.N.G admits he killed Rashid's friend, making Rashid attack him. They fight, and F.A.N.G hits Rashid with poison from behind, but Rashid destroys a device F.A.N.G uses to control the Dolls. F.A.N.G tries to restart the plan but is stopped by Marz, a Doll who regained control. F.A.N.G defeats her and is about to kill her, but Rashid throws a chess piece at F.A.N.G's head, distracting him. Marz tackles F.A.N.G off a platform, trying to kill them both. F.A.N.G loses his grip, and they fall into the control room reactor. F.A.N.G says he was too young to die.

F.A.N.G barely survives Marz's sacrifice and falls to the base's bottom floor. He blames Li-Fen for revealing how to stop his plan. Chun-Li defends Li-Fen against a weak and angry F.A.N.G. He is knocked out before reaching Bison. After Ryu defeats Bison, F.A.N.G sees Bison disappear in blue light. He screams in pain as the base collapses and is not seen again. Though it seems he died with Bison, F.A.N.G actually survived.

After Bison and Shadaloo fall, F.A.N.G goes back to Shanghai to rebuild Shadaloo. After a night of partying with old friends and making new connections to fund his plans during Chinese New Year, he notices a teenage girl trying to survive by prostitution. Instead of judging her, and holding her brother who recorded him on his phone at blackmail, he offers them three choices: money poisoned to kill one of them and ruin their clients; a fancy snake-handled dagger that would cut off the hand of whoever grabs it; or neither, letting them both live.

The girl notices the writing on the dagger's blade, which only F.A.N.G can read, and its beauty. She wants to know more about it. F.A.N.G tells her the dagger is the Nguuhao's most prized item, holding the Poison Hand's secrets to its strongest technique. He offers to take the girl, whom he names "Phantom," under his care and train her as his successor.

In her story, C. Viper is about to sneak onto the rooftop of the Shadaloo base. Before that, she remembers what happened to Charlie Nash when he chased M. Bison. Charlie found Bison and tried to arrest him. They fought, but Charlie didn't know about Bison's Psycho Power. Bison easily beat Charlie and threw him into a waterfall, making him disappear and believed to be dead.

On the rooftop, F.A.N.G appears. C. Viper thinks about when F.A.N.G was part of Nguuhao, a big cartel under Shadaloo that Bison destroyed. F.A.N.G was the only one Bison left alive because of his power. After losing to Bison, F.A.N.G promised to join him and became part of Shadaloo.

Back in the present, Bison meets with Vega, Balrog, F.A.N.G, Enero, Xiayu, Jianyu, and some soldiers. He asks about the operation's status. F.A.N.G says everything is ready and soon they will start their plan to take over the world. C. Viper puts the pieces together but is spotted by Bison. Bison tells his group the plan can't be stopped and everything will end soon.

A Shadow Falls

Bison plans to create seven Black Moons, powerful satellites that can cause chaos with electromagnetic pulses. This chaos will make Bison's Psycho Power almost godlike. But the plan stops when a Shadaloo programmer steals parts of the machine controlling the Moons. Bison sends his generals to find the programmer and get the parts back. The programmer sent seven parts to street fighters worldwide.

After F.A.N.G recovers one part, a big city in North America (probably New York City) is hit by one of Bison's Black Moons. Bison comes to the city after the destruction and sees his generals arguing. The fight stops when Guile and Chun-Li arrive. Chun-Li wants to fight Bison right away and ignores Guile's warning. But Bison, now stronger because of the fear caused by his weapon, beats her badly. Cammy saves Chun-Li just in time, and the three escape. Bison thinks they are not worth chasing.

Knowing Bison is a big threat, the Illuminati Secret Society brings Charlie Nash back to life as a weapon. They improve his body with bio-engineering and make him believe his only goal is to destroy Bison. Nash goes on a dangerous mission and sneaks into Shadaloo HQ. But when he faces Bison, who killed him before, Nash is badly beaten. Seeing Bison is too strong, Nash escapes thanks to Necalli's arrival. Necalli, a powerful soul eater, fights Bison too but is overwhelmed by Bison's greatly increased Psycho Power. Bison stops the ancient prophecy and defeats Necalli.

After escaping, Charlie meets his friend Guile and other fighters led by Karin Kanzuki. He starts to understand the power of the Illuminati's bio-engineering. His new body can absorb and block Psycho Power. But it's not clear if it will work on someone as strong as Bison.

In the final fight at Shadaloo base, Charlie faces Bison again. Bison, now almost invincible because of the panic caused by his Moons, wins again. But Nash absorbs a huge amount of Psycho Power before being destroyed by it. Rashid works to stop the other Moons from falling. This helps weaken Bison a lot. After finishing his training and mastering the darkness inside him by defeating Necalli, Ryu arrives to stop Bison for good.

Bison asks Ryu to show the power that beat Necalli. Ryu says it's not a power to defeat but a power to keep moving forward. Bison laughs and says power is just power, and chasing ultimate power leads to fights and the final battle. Ryu almost kills Bison, but Bison laughs and says, "We're not done." He tries a Psycho Inferno attack, but Ryu blocks it with a Hadoken. Bison laughs as he fades away, likely destroyed by the Power of Nothingness. His base falls apart, and his hat falls with it.

After these events and Shadaloo's fall, Bison becomes a ghost that haunts people like his body copies Ed and Falke.

Laura Matsuda, her younger brother Sean, and older brother Fabio were all born in Brazil. Their father, Yuichiro Matsuda, and grandfather, Kinjiro Matsuda, were Japanese, which is why they have a Japanese last name. Yuichiro married Brenda, and they had three children: Fabio, Laura, and Sean. Laura has two cousins on her mother's side, Enzo and Manuela Da Silva, who practice capoeira. Laura learned the family's Matsuda Jiu-Jitsu from Kinjiro. When Sean leaves to become Ken Masters' apprentice, Laura becomes the main heir of the art.

As the heir to Matsuda Jiu-Jitsu, Laura looks for strong fighters to challenge and promote her style. Before leaving home, she hugs and teases Sean a little. She meets Birdie and offers him a free meal if they fight. Afterward, she asks Birdie if he knows any strong fighters, and he points her to Karin. After fighting Karin, Laura asks her about strong fighters, and Karin tells her about Ryu. Laura finds and fights Ryu, who talks about the Satsui no Hado. Later, Laura meets and fights Zangief, who gives her tickets to a wrestling scouting event.

During R. Mika's story, Laura is wrestling R. Mika while Zangief watches. Before their match is interrupted, Laura happily says she was tougher than she thought.

**A Shadow Falls**

In the main story, Laura teams up with Alex in a tag team match against Zangief and R. Mika. She uses the ring announcer's megaphone to tell the crowd their match will be an epic showdown. Laura, Zangief, and R. Mika cheer the crowd while Alex shrugs. The match is postponed because of a blackout caused by one of the Seven Moons from Shadaloo.

Laura is shown carrying one of the chess pieces, as Sean mentions. Sean is almost caught by F.A.N.G. and Shadaloo soldiers before Ken saves him. Laura arrives and sees Ken, Cammy, Chun-Li, and Sean, who puts her brother in a headlock. Laura angrily thinks Ken is the enemy trying to get the chess pieces, but Sean corrects her, saying they fought off the Shadaloo soldiers. Laura apologizes and makes a deal with Ken: if he lets her join their group because of the chess piece she has, she will add Matsuda Jiu-Jitsu to his online karate. Ken agrees, and Laura is excited to join them to stop Shadaloo.

In the final fight against Shadaloo, Laura is seen fighting Shadaloo soldiers and the Dolls with the other fighters.

**Other character story appearances**
*Blanka's Character Story*

After Shadaloo falls, Laura finds Blanka sitting in the street admiring his Blanka-chan dolls. Laura doesn't know what he's doing and accidentally steps on one of the dolls while telling Blanka he's in everyone's way. This starts a fight, which Blanka wins. Laura laughs and says sorry for stepping on the doll. Blanka explains he was told he could become popular but has too many dolls. Laura thinks the maker tricked Blanka, and she and Sean suggest he sell the dolls in Japan, saying the Japanese will like them. Laura even gives Blanka money to fly to Japan.

Now taking over from her father as the head of the Kanzuki Zaibatsu (and currently working closely with the Prime Minister and other leaders), Karin returns to the Kanzuki Estate, where Shibazaki and Birdie are waiting for her. In Birdie's backstory, it is shown that Karin invited him to stay as her guest because she was impressed by his progress and wanted to test her own leadership. After a sparring match with Birdie, which Karin wins but feels unsatisfied, Shibazaki tells her about a worthy challenger: a mysterious Senjutsu master who fights with one arm sealed. Apparently, her grandfather fought this master for three days straight. Karin quickly decides to go to India. There, she meets Dhalsim, who says the Senjutsu master has been gone for a few days. To make up for missing him, Karin challenges Dhalsim. After a long match, they praise each other's skills — Dhalsim's Yoga mastery and Karin's "pure fist" — before Karin teleports away. Just then, Zangief arrives, chased by Shadaloo hitmen. Karin defeats them using a secret Kanzuki technique. After that, she and Zangief have a match. They part ways happy, and Karin returns to Japan. At the estate, she meets an old friend, Sakura. After a friendly greeting, Karin quickly takes a fighting stance. Sakura laughs, saying Karin hasn't changed, but that's just how she likes it.

Other character story appearances
Karin appears in Ibuki's story, where she quickly scolds Birdie for being rude to guests. She then introduces herself to Ibuki by fighting her and later recruits Ibuki to help fight Shadaloo and the Seven Moons. Karin also appears in Zeku's story when Zeku wants to join her side to promote Bushinryu. In Sakura's story, which happens after A Shadow Falls, Karin is defeated by Sakura after challenging her. Sakura complains about fighting for no reason, but Karin says it was a test of strength. When Karin mentions Ryu joining their fight against Shadaloo, Sakura gets excited. When Sakura leaves the estate to work part-time at the Japan Arcade Center, Karin sends Ryu to help with Sakura's problems.

Shadow Falls

In the main story, Karin is seen talking with business officials at her party and watching a tag team battle between R. Mika and Zangief against Alex and Laura. When one of the Black Moons causes an electromagnetic pulse in New York, signals get jammed. Karin sees one of the seven Black Moons and decides to investigate in New York. The next day, after her investigation, Shibazaki tells her how to stop the Black Moons. Rashid arrives to get a chess piece from her, and they fight. Karin wins, but Rashid says he is not the enemy and convinces her to let him keep the chess piece. He escapes with Azam. Karin then orders Shibazaki to gather the top fighters and bring them to the estate.

Karin's leadership shows as she gathers fighters to stop Shadaloo by collecting chess pieces. She meets Cammy, who tells her about the seven Black Moons and missing hackers. When Marz and Decapre sneak into her estate, Karin says she will teach them manners by fighting. She defeats Marz, who tries to break her arm, and warns Ibuki and R. Mika. They argue, but Karin says she will join if she beats them, which they disagree with but accept. She sends fighters on missions to get chess pieces: Alex and Laura from Brazil, Dhalsim in New York, Ken with Chun-Li and Cammy in Brazil, and Zangief with Guile, Karin, Ibuki, and R. Mika to infiltrate Shadaloo's main base.

After they infiltrate the base and Rashid returns the chess piece, Karin and Chun-Li stop the plan by completing six chess pieces. F.A.N.G arrives to fight them. Karin holds him off long enough for Chun-Li to stop his plan. F.A.N.G warns he has a backup plan and escapes using poison clouds. Since the backup plan has a time limit, Karin decides to regroup at her estate while waiting for a helicopter. Guile arrives to take them back, including Rashid and a revived Charlie Nash, who are chased by Necalli.

Karin decides to make a final attack on Shadaloo and is happy to see Ryu again. She prepares to infiltrate the base with her family ninjas. During the final attack, she lets Chun-Li, Guile, and Ryu enter the base while she fights Shadaloo soldiers and Dolls. Karin faces Enero, the Dolls' leader. They share the same laugh before Karin defeats her. To her surprise, Enero is controlled by Psycho Power and screams in pain, making the fight more serious. They are freed from the control after F.A.N.G's device is destroyed by Rashid during the fight.

After Bison is defeated by Ryu, Karin is seen relieved to see Chun-Li, Ryu, and Guile safe as they reunite with the other fighters.

Prologue - 'Finding True Strength' - In his dream, Ryu fights his evil self, who tells him that killing power will make him stronger. Ryu rejects this idea. During this, Gouken is sparring. Ryu fills himself with the Satsui no Hado and tries to hit Gouken with a Hadoken. It explodes in a bright light. Ryu wakes up, and Gouken tells him the Satsui no Hado almost took over him.

Rashid and Azam find Ryu. Rashid says he is a hero who travels the world. Gouken asks why Rashid came to see Ryu. Rashid says he wants to fight Ryu to test his strength. Ryu is worried about the Satsui no Hado and does not want to fight right away. Rashid is confused, and Gouken asks why Ryu hesitates, quoting Ryu's words: "The answer lies in the heart of battle." Ryu finally stands up and fights Rashid, winning the match. Rashid learns something about himself from the fight. He thanks Ryu and leaves. Ryu decides to leave too, to better understand his power. Gouken tells Ryu to meet Ken, who is worried about him.

Ryu and Ken meet in Brazil. Gouken told Ken about Ryu's struggle with the Satsui no Hado. Ken thinks a good fight will help, so they fight. After the fight, Ryu still worries about the Satsui no Hado. Ken tells Ryu that if he falls to the dark side, Ken will stop him. Ken tells Ryu to relax and just fight.

Ryu goes to China and is attacked by a Shadaloo soldier. Charlie Nash arrives and defeats the soldier. Nash expected to see Ryu, which causes some Satsui no Hado to appear in him. Nash says they must fight so he can understand the power and its limits. The fight ends in a draw. Nash is surprised by the power, which is stronger than he thought. Ryu says he tries to control the power and struggles with it but has decided not to let it take over. Nash respects this. Ryu thanks Nash for the fight, and Nash leaves.

A Shadow Falls

Ryu meets with Dhalsim while training Mahesh and says he is still having trouble with the Satsui no Hado and needs help. They decide to spar. After the spar, Dhalsim tells him that holding back the power will eventually let it take over. He says Ryu needs to face the Hado and control it. Necalli drops down from above, looking to take fighters' souls. Dhalsim protects Mahesh while Ryu fights Necalli. Necalli beats Ryu, almost making him use his dark power. Dhalsim takes a punch from Ryu, saying he can't let the Hado control him. Dhalsim fights off Necalli. Ryu sees a Black Moon blocking the sun, which gives him visions of M. Bison. Necalli melts away for a while. Dhalsim tells Ryu that Necalli is an ancient being that eats warriors' souls and only shows up when many fighters are needed in a crisis. Ryu thinks the world is in danger because of the Black Moons.

After beating the Hado and defeating Necalli, Ryu joins Ken, Chun-Li, and Karin to make a final attack on Shadaloo. Chun-Li defeats F.A.N.G. while saving Li-Fen. Ryu finally faces Bison, who is ready to fight him. Ryu says his strength comes from pushing forward and he is ready to fight. After a long battle, Bison doesn't give up until Ryu hits him with a Hadoken filled with the Power of Nothingness. This shows Ryu has mastered the power and overcome the Satsui no Hado. Bison's body cracks and disappears in a flash of light, defeating him. As the base is about to explode, Ryu, Guile, Chun-Li, and Li-Fen escape. Chun-Li is slow, so Ryu uses his Denjin Hadoken to stop the fire from the explosion.

After the event, Ryu is meditating when Ken visits him again. Ken challenges Ryu to a friendly spar to see if he has found his answer. Ryu wins but Ken also knocks off Ryu's red headband. When it falls, Ryu realizes he has found the answer to his true strength. He picks up his headband, and Ken is happy to see Ryu has grown. Ryu says he still needs his headband for the next battle. The two friends end with a friendly fist bump.

Ken, Eliza, and Mel are invited to a party hosted by Karin. During the party, Ken thinks about the sparring matches he had with Ryu. The family gets lost on the way to the party and meets Birdie, who thinks they are trespassing. This leads to a fight between Birdie and Ken. Karin arrives and offers Ken a fight before the meal to make up for Birdie attacking him, and Ken agrees. After that, Ken and Eliza wonder why Ryu is not at the party.

A Shadow Falls
In the main story, Ken visits Ryu, who is meditating. After Ken wins a sparring match, Ryu says he will join them when his training is finished. Later, Ken comes with the other fighters called by Karin to the Kanzuki Estate, where they plan their first attack on the Shadaloo base.

Ken, Chun-Li, and Cammy go to Brazil to find the first missing chess piece, held by Laura Matsuda. While there, Ken saves Sean from F.A.N.G, but then Laura attacks Ken, thinking he is an enemy. After the fight, Sean clears up the misunderstanding by showing the unconscious Shadaloo soldiers. Laura decides to join them, but only if Ken adds Matsuda Jiu-Jitsu to his online karate classes, which he agrees to. Chun-Li then leaves to help Karin with the group's first attack. Ken stays with Laura, and together they fight more Shadaloo soldiers. Ken defeats three soldiers with one Shinryuken.

Ken meets Ryu again just before the group starts the final attack on Shadaloo. After Bison is finally defeated by Ryu and Shadaloo is destroyed, Ken finds Ryu meditating alone. They decide to have another friendly sparring match to see if Ryu has found his "true answer." Ryu wins but drops his red headband. Ken gives it back to him, thinking he might still need it. Later, they share a friendly fist bump.

Necalli is called the "Emissary of the Gods" and also known as "The Soul Consuming Darkness." The Warrior Prophet explains that every few hundred years, the stars signal the "Hour of Battle" or "Hour of Necalli." During this time, Necalli wakes up to eat the souls of strong fighters.

The Warrior Prophet, an Aztec warrior-priest from a place called "Ancient Altar," tells Necalli's story. He predicts that in the next "Hour of Battle," Necalli will try to eat the souls of Ryu ("The one who struggles to follow his path"), Dhalsim ("The one who serves the God of Fire"), and M. Bison ("The one who brings destruction to the world").

In the current "Hour of Battle," Necalli comes to eat the Warrior Prophet's soul. The Warrior Prophet feels comforted knowing that only the strongest warriors see Necalli. After a short fight, Necalli defeats and consumes him. When Necalli eats the Warrior Prophet, his look changes from his original form to a more human one. The scars and marks of the Warrior Prophet appear on Necalli.

In the epilogue, a scene from the future shows the prophecy happening as Necalli faces Ryu and Dhalsim. But Necalli's changed form suggests the prophecy might not happen as expected.

A Shadow Falls

In the main story, Necalli wakes up because Shadaloo's Black Moons block the Sun. He meets Ryu and Dhalsim at Apprentice Alley to eat their souls, which horrifies Mahesh. Necalli overpowers Ryu in his transformed state, causing Ryu to lose control and tap into the Satsui no Hado. Before Necalli can finish Ryu, Ryu hits him, but Dhalsim stops Ryu and brings him back to normal. Necalli was awakened by one of the Black Moons, as seen in Bison's vision. Necalli then disappears into dark, glowing red dust, leaving Ryu and Dhalsim alone. Dhalsim later tells Ryu about Necalli's origins and warns that their world is in danger.

Necalli can cross into the spiritual world and appears in Charlie Nash's dream as a sheep before returning to his normal form. He attacks Charlie, trying to eat his soul, but a glowing butterfly appears and wakes Charlie from the nightmare.

Later, Necalli fights Bison during the first attack on Bison's base. Bison gains the upper hand, and while Necalli is weak, F.A.N.G poisons him, knocking him out briefly. Outnumbered, Necalli escapes by shapeshifting. He also meets Rashid and Charlie in the Shadaloo base and tries to eat their souls but fails when they escape by Karin's helicopter.

Necalli breaks into the Kanzuki Estate and sees Ryu, who has finished his training. Necalli attacks, but Ryu dodges, and Necalli falls. Necalli changes into his monster form and tries to eat Ryu's soul, but Ryu avoids the attack. Ryu uses all his power from the Satsui no Hado and the Power of Nothingness, entering the state called Hado Kakusei. Necalli attacks again, but Ryu punches him in the chest, making Necalli return to his normal form. Necalli wonders why he couldn't eat Ryu's soul. Dhalsim arrives and says Ryu's soul is safe because he no longer struggles with the Satsui no Hado inside. After failing to eat the souls of Ryu, Dhalsim, M. Bison, or Charlie, Necalli disappears into the ground.

### Other Character Story Appearances

**Balrog's story:** Necalli appears during a meeting between Balrog and Urien. Urien seems to recognize Necalli and thinks it has come to eat their souls. He tells Balrog to fight Necalli to test Balrog's strength. Angry at being interrupted, Balrog defeats Necalli. Necalli then turns into clay and disappears.

**Akuma's story:** After "A Shadow Falls," Necalli meets Akuma and wants to eat his soul because Akuma still has the Satsui no Hado. Akuma challenges Necalli to a fight, saying if Necalli loses, Akuma will end him and surpass heaven. Necalli says Akuma is not worthy. Necalli loses but tries to eat Akuma anyway and succeeds. While Necalli laughs, proud of his full belly, Akuma escapes from inside Necalli using Mudo Tensho, destroying Necalli's body.

R. Mika met Zangief in London, which made her very happy. They fought to show how much they had improved. She told him she admired him, and he praised her skills. He then asked her to join him on his journey around the world to find something called "Muscle Spirit." She didn't know what that was but agreed excitedly.

In India, Mika caught Birdie stealing donuts and stopped him. After beating him, she told Birdie he wasn't as strong as Zangief and didn't have Muscle Spirit. When Birdie said he didn't understand, Mika realized she didn't really know either. Birdie used this chance to escape, which annoyed her.

In Russia, Zangief made Mika fight Laura, then he fought himself. Mika watched with admiration, but then a bear got loose. Not wanting the bear to ruin the fight and wanting to protect Zangief, she fought the bear. When she was about to lose, Zangief helped and defeated the bear. Mika felt she was still far from her goal.

Mika told Zangief she felt she hadn't improved enough, but he disagreed. He said that by bravely facing the bear, she showed Muscle Spirit — a mix of physical effort and passion. He then said that by joining his quest, she earned the right to be his partner and fight by his side, which made her very happy.

Later, Mika met Ibuki at the Kanzuki Estate. The meeting turned bad because Mika found Ibuki arrogant and unwilling to listen to her offer to "build some muscle." Ibuki called Mika bossy and too excited. This led to a fight between them.

A Shadow Falls

In the main story, R. Mika teams up with her idol Zangief to fight Laura and Alex. Their match stops when the seven Black Moons made by Shadaloo activate. Later, Mika argues with Ibuki at the Kanzuki Estate (the same scene from her prologue). When Karin beats Marz, she says she will join their fight if they stop arguing. Mika and Ibuki stop arguing but say they are still not satisfied.

During an infiltration, Mika and Ibuki keep arguing until Balrog and Ed confront them. Ibuki tries to beat Balrog with ninjutsu but fails. Mika tries too, but it doesn't work. When Ed tries to use Psycho Powers, Ibuki throws a smoke bomb to distract him long enough to get a chess piece. Then she and Mika reunite with Karin and Shibazaki.

While escaping, they see Zangief defeat a brainwashed Abel with his Spinning Pile Driver. Mika admires him, but Ibuki is disgusted by what he did.

In the final fight against Shadaloo, Mika and Ibuki watch Zangief defeat Satsuki, one of the Dolls controlled by F.A.N.G, after surviving her sword attack. Mika is last seen with the other fighters watching Shadaloo's destruction.

Mika also appears in Dhalsim's character story.

Rashid is the oldest son of a rich Middle Eastern family. He is traveling the world to find a missing friend who was kidnapped by Shadaloo. Rashid's family lost their land at night to one of the Secret Society's ancestors, who is now led by Gill.

Rashid is eating in a Chinese restaurant with his servant, Azam. They talk about his missing friend and how Shadaloo is involved. One of Rashid's online friends says he saw a man with the Mark of Shadaloo, so Rashid rushes to find him. This leads him to Birdie. Rashid asks Birdie where the Shadaloo base is, but Birdie fights him instead. Rashid wins and asks again. Birdie says he left Shadaloo. Rashid explains his friend worked at the S.I.N. lab before disappearing. Birdie is rude at first but opens up when Azam questions him. What Birdie told them is never revealed.

Later, Rashid talks to his online friends again. One friend, Maya (Crimson Viper), tells him to fight Ryu to see if he can face Shadaloo. She gives him Ryu's location and warns him not to get too involved with Shadaloo.

Rashid and Azam find Ryu, who is with Gouken. Rashid says he is a hero traveling the world. Gouken wonders why Rashid is here. Rashid wants to test himself by fighting Ryu. He takes a fighting stance, but Ryu does not fight right away. Rashid finds this strange because Ryu usually fights immediately. Rashid asks if Ryu is ready, and Ryu accepts the challenge.

They fight, but Ryu defeats Rashid with a single Shoryuken. Rashid accepts defeat, and they shake hands. Rashid is happy to have a good story and is glad he learned more about his skills. Rashid and Azam leave.

After the fight, Azam asks if Rashid will keep looking for his friend. Rashid says yes. He felt something in Ryu's punch about passion and moving forward. Rashid decides to save his friend from Shadaloo, even if he must do it alone. He asks Azam if he will come, and Azam agrees.

She points the way, and Rashid promises to escape with her after finding his friend. Rashid does not find his friend but meets F.A.N.G as he leaves the building. F.A.N.G sees Rashid holding a chess piece. Rashid offers to trade it for his friend, but F.A.N.G ignores him and fights. Rashid is knocked out, and F.A.N.G takes the piece.

Later, Rashid gets information from Helen about pieces that control the Black Moons. In a ruined New York, Rashid and Azam meet Chun-Li, Guile, Cammy, and Nash. Nash fights Guile. Rashid introduces himself and says he will take Chun-Li's piece. He defeats her while Azam holds off Cammy. Rashid apologizes but sees Nash has defeated Guile and taken his piece. Nash escapes, and Rashid flies away with Azam on a tornado he creates.

Later, in Russia, Rashid and Azam meet Helen at the Underground Arena. Nash arrives too. Helen reveals herself, and Juri appears. Juri challenges Rashid to test his fighting. Rashid calls off the fight after being overwhelmed. Juri threatens to kill him if he does not fight seriously. Azam tries to defend Rashid, but Helen stops the fight. She explains Shadaloo's plan to use the Black Moons and her plan to stop it. She says Rashid wants to find his friend, which interests him. Rashid agrees to join but wants to know who Helen really is. Before Kolin can answer, Urien appears and angrily scolds her for the secret meeting. Urien fights Charlie to test him. After beating Charlie, Urien tries to kill him, but Rashid stops him. Urien is angry that Rashid touched him and throws Rashid away with an Aegis Reflector. Kolin stops the fight by begging Urien's forgiveness.

Rashid and Azam visit the Kanzuki Estate to see Karin. Karin is angry they came uninvited and calls Rashid rude. Rashid asks for the piece, and Karin says he must beat her in a fight. She wins. Karin ties up Rashid, who surrenders but escapes. He promises never to use the pieces for evil and leaves with Azam.

Rashid and Azam find Nash, who feels defeated after failing to kill Bison. Rashid tells Nash about his missing friend, which helps Nash regain his mind. Necalli finds them and chases them until they reach Karin's helicopter and escape to the Kanzuki Estate. After Nash heals Abel, they leave to meet Helen again. After a short argument between Nash and Helen, Rashid and Azam follow Nash into the final attack on the Shadaloo Base.

Inside the computer room, Rashid faces a riddle from his friend. He guesses the password easily: "Rashid of the Turbulent Wind." The cancellation process starts. F.A.N.G arrives, shocked the plan is failing. Angry, F.A.N.G says he should have killed the traitor and realizes Rashid's friend is dead. Rashid gets angry and defeats F.A.N.G to avenge his friend. When Rashid turns away, F.A.N.G poisons him and tries to stop the cancellation. Before he can, Marz, newly freed, sacrifices herself to kill F.A.N.G while Rashid watches. Rashid fights off Shadaloo soldiers until the cancellation finishes. Operation: C.H.A.I.N.S. is stopped forever. Rashid rests, amazed he helped save the world.

After Ryu defeats Bison and the Shadaloo base is destroyed, Rashid and Azam watch the other fighters from afar. Rashid gets a bittersweet message from his friend. She congratulates him for stopping the Black Moons and tells him to enjoy life. Rashid stands and leaves with Azam, feeling stronger and ready for what comes next.

Zangief is shown winning a wrestling match in the New York Fighting Tournament by beating an opponent with a Spinning Piledriver. After the match, he reads the latest issue of a wrestling magazine called "Muscle Soul Fighters," which was sent by Rashid's servant, Azam. Zangief then flies to London, where he meets up with R. Mika, who calls him "Master Zangief." Zangief wants to test her strength in a fight, and Mika happily agrees. After Zangief wins, Mika says she wants to follow his path to become a "great professional wrestler." Zangief tells her that to truly follow him, she needs what he calls "Muscle Spirit." He suggests they go on a training journey, fighting around the world to build muscle and get the strongest Muscle Spirit they can. Mika happily agrees, and they fly to their first stop, China.

In China, Zangief meets an old friend, Azam, and Rashid. Mika is surprised that Azam and Zangief know each other. Zangief explains that Azam is the adviser of the "Muscle Soul Fighters Club" and introduces him to Mika. Rashid is also surprised they know each other because he is a fan of Zangief, having watched his wrestling wins online and saying Zangief's muscles are even more impressive in person. Zangief jokingly challenges Rashid to a wrestling match right there, saying he will throw Rashid "as a greeting," which shocks and scares Rashid.

After Zangief shows his moves on Rashid, Rashid says Zangief is very powerful. Zangief says his strength comes from "great power and dedication of muscle." Mika also challenges Rashid, which again surprises and scares him. Zangief laughs and says Mika and Rashid will have a great match. While they fight, Azam tells Zangief about a message from Laura that says only "The usual place." Azam also remembers when they were both guided by their masters long ago. Zangief notices Mika has beaten Rashid more than once. She excitedly asks Rashid for "one more match" to keep working on her Muscle Spirit, but Rashid tries to find a reason not to fight again. Zangief and Azam laugh. Zangief tells Rashid that strong spirits help everyone, not just wrestlers. Azam says the spirit from his ancestors will give him power as a fighter and turn into muscle. Mika and Rashid are confused by this, and Azam and Zangief laugh heartily.

Back in New York, Zangief teams up with Mika, both wearing different costumes, for a tag team match. Mika is very nervous because it is her first match fighting alongside her hero. Zangief tells her not to be so nervous because her Muscle Spirit is ready and as well-trained as his. Mika thanks him, and they enter the ring.

At one point, Zangief and R. Mika fight as a tag team against Alex and Laura. Zangief also faces Balrog and one of the Dolls.

In New York, F.A.N.G, Balrog, and Vega argue about the success and failures of Operation C.H.A.I.N.S. When Bison arrives to report on "the other device," F.A.N.G brings two Shadaloo soldiers to fight Balrog and Vega. After Balrog and Vega defeat the soldiers, they threaten F.A.N.G. Chun-Li and Guile show up and see the damage before spotting Bison. Chun-Li confronts them, even though Guile tries to stop her. Bison steps forward to fight her, saying she was foolish to come. Using Psycho Power, Bison throws Chun-Li to the ground. Guile rushes to help her but is stopped by Vega, who challenges him.

Later in Brazil, Vega watches Cammy, now a fugitive, leave with Juri and Decapre. Vega is focused on capturing Cammy. He follows them until they reach London, where he attacks Cammy. After easily beating her, Vega moves closer to admire her beauty and picks up one of her braids. But before he can do more, Juri stops him, saying Cammy belongs to her since she found her first. While Juri holds Vega back, Cammy wakes up. Seeing Vega next to Decapre, Cammy quickly kicks his mask off, making him step back. Cammy protects the unconscious Decapre, and Vega laughs before leaving.

Vega appears again during the Street Fighters' attack on Shadaloo's base. He meets Cammy, who just beat the brainwashed Juli. After dodging his attack, Cammy gets ready to fight as Vega mocks her. Cammy tries to hit him with a Spiral Arrow, but he avoids it and fights back. Vega wins again, but before he can finish Cammy, Decapre arrives and saves her. After the other Dolls are freed from brainwashing, Vega leaves.

That was the original roster of Street Fighter V. Now, I will present all the new characters added through the various DLCs, including those from the Arcade and Champions editions. I will begin with the characters introduced in Season 1 and conclude with those from Season 5, the final season.

In his character story, F.A.N.G is surprised to see Balrog has found the bandaged boy from the S.I.N laboratory, who is revealed to be Ed. F.A.N.G tells him that their plan (Operation C.H.A.I.N.S.) is now fully underway and to keep it a secret. He also says Balrog's actions are seen as betrayal, which leads to a fight between them. After the fight, Balrog knocks off F.A.N.G's hat before leaving, saying he has work to do. When Balrog calls Ed out, Ed burns the hat to ashes.

In China, Balrog and Ed meet Urien. Then Necalli appears, trying to eat their souls. Urien tells Balrog to beat Necalli for some reward money. Balrog happily agrees and fights Necalli. When Necalli is defeated, he turns to dust. Urien pays Balrog and asks him to deliver the data from Operation C.H.A.I.N.S. in return for his service to Shadaloo. Balrog accepts the payment.

Back at the Shadaloo Base, Ed says Urien was more of a jerk. Balrog says he will hit Urien once the job is done. Ed agrees, and they both walk away.

Other character story appearances
Balrog makes a silent cameo in M. Bison's story. He is shown at a Shadaloo meeting about the Dolls.

In Urien's story, after Balrog beats Necalli, Balrog takes the reward from Urien, who wants him to deliver the Operation C.H.A.I.N.S. data for his service to Shadaloo. When Balrog accepts, he insults Urien for the small payment. Urien gets angry and scolds Balrog for breaking their deal, and they fight. Balrog is no match for Urien and is helped by Ed using his Psycho Powers. Urien breaks the power and notices Ed inherited Bison's Psycho Powers. Urien leaves, telling Balrog not to cause more trouble.

A Shadow Falls
In New York, F.A.N.G, Balrog, and Vega argue about the success and failures of Operation C.H.A.I.N.S. Bison appears to get a report about "the other device." F.A.N.G brings two Shadaloo soldiers to fight Balrog and Vega. After they win, the two kings threaten F.A.N.G. Chun-Li and Guile see the fight and then see Bison. Chun-Li confronts them, even though Guile tries to stop her. Bison steps forward and fights her, saying she was foolish to come. Using Psycho Power, Bison throws Chun-Li to the ground. Guile rushes to help her but is stopped by Vega, who challenges him.

Later, after getting the control piece in India, Zangief and Guile are attacked by two Shadaloo soldiers. Balrog appears with Ed, unimpressed by how weak the soldiers are. Santamu jumps from a rooftop and attacks Guile. While they fight, Balrog fights Zangief, who easily takes one of his punches. As Balrog gets ready to fight, Ed watches Zangief closely.

Ed tells Balrog that Zangief might have one of the control pieces. While Balrog distracts Zangief, Ed uses his Psycho Power to get the piece. They escape, leaving Santamu and another soldier to fight Zangief and Guile.

Balrog is next seen during the Street Fighters' attack on Shadaloo's base. Ibuki and Mika, separated from the group, see Balrog and Ed passing with a control piece. Balrog challenges them, and Ibuki accepts. Despite her efforts, Balrog stays standing. He attacks, but Mika saves Ibuki. Mika then fights Balrog while Ibuki fights Shadaloo soldiers. Balrog stays up, but Ibuki and Mika nod to each other, planning something. Mika grabs Balrog, and Ed tries to help, but Ibuki uses smoke bombs to stop him. They take the piece from Balrog and escape.

Ed's Prologue - 'The Nimble Boxer'
After Shadaloo falls and Bison dies in A Shadow Falls, Ed and Balrog hide near a waterfall in New Zealand. Ed has a nightmare and almost gets possessed by Bison's spirit. Ed fights off the spirit and leaves their tent to go somewhere else. Balrog wakes and asks what's wrong. Ed sadly says he fears if they stay together, Balrog will get hurt. Balrog says Ed is too weak to hurt him and tells him to shut up and follow orders.

Angry, Ed says he's not weak and Balrog is nothing without him. He tells Balrog to go away, while remembering better times when Balrog trained and praised him. This leads to a fight. Balrog says he can't hurt Ed, but Ed wins. Balrog, in a rare moment, cries while trying to hide his feelings. He didn't want Ed to leave and cared for him. Ed also cared and leaves, leaving behind his only friend and father figure.

In his character story, Alex is fixing his trailer car when Patricia arrives to tell him about an invitation email. She also gives him a basket full of sandwiches before leaving. Later, Alex falls asleep, not knowing that two Shadaloo foot soldiers are coming toward him.

Alex wakes up in a strange place and is watched by F.A.N.G, who calls him Shadaloo test body number 222222 (because F.A.N.G likes the number 2). F.A.N.G starts an AS simulation experiment on Alex. Alex faces new versions of fighters; the first three are Dan, E. Honda, and Hakan. After beating them, Alex wants to go back to his trailer, but F.A.N.G tells him that Shadaloo kidnapped him to use him in experiments. F.A.N.G forces Alex to fight Birdie. After winning, Alex tries to find a way out but fails. Chun-Li then comes to him. After Alex defeats her, F.A.N.G sees that Alex is strong and warns him that if he tries to escape, he will die.

The last fighter, Ryu (in his Alpha look), appears. During the fight, Ryu gives Alex a scar on his upper cheek, but Alex wins. F.A.N.G panics, and an angry Alex starts breaking the lab. He warns F.A.N.G to bring another one of his "toys." F.A.N.G orders his men to take Alex away before releasing a poison cloud. Alex wakes up, thinking it was all a dream.

Patricia tells him about Tom's invitation and the email. She notices a scratch on Alex's face. When Alex looks in the mirror, he sees the scar on his cheek that wasn't there before he slept. This makes Alex wonder if the events really were a dream.

Other character story appearances:

In Abigail's story, Alex is the only fighter who recognizes Abigail's car sounds like a diesel engine and knows which car Abigail is missing. They end up fighting, but it seems Abigail just needed to let off steam. Abigail's win quote against Alex suggests he thinks Alex is a nice guy and wants to help him fix his car.

A Shadow Falls

In the main story, Alex is holding a trophy. He had an exhibition wrestling match with Zangief, who is with R. Mika. Alex smiles because his tag partner is Laura. Laura grabs the announcer's megaphone and tells the crowd that their tag team match will be an epic showdown. When Zangief, R. Mika, and Laura try to cheer the crowd, Alex just shrugs. Their fight is postponed because of a blackout caused by one of the seven Moons made by Bison.

Alex goes back to his trailer car to fix it. Suddenly, Dhalsim appears in front of him just as Alex is about to close the car door. Alex thinks Dhalsim is a mugger, and they fight. Dhalsim says he is not a mugger and came to get a chess piece. Alex looks at the chess piece Patricia gave him. Alex gives the chess piece to Dhalsim, saying he is not interested. Dhalsim tells Alex about his future and then teleports away.

In her story, Ibuki has just finished her ninja mission and gets a call from Sakura, a friend she met in Super Street Fighter IV. Sakura tells Ibuki about a party invitation from her rival, Karin Kanzuki. Ibuki says she hasn't read the invite yet because she almost fell through a roof on her way home to the ninja village. Sakura tells her to fly to the Kanzuki Estate for the party. Before hanging up, Sakura says she can't come because of a schedule conflict. Ibuki thinks about what to wear and notes she has never met Karin before.

When Ibuki arrives at the Kanzuki Estate, she is excited for the party. But Birdie attacks her, and she has to fight him. After winning, Ibuki says she also has an invitation. Karin steps in and scolds Birdie for being rude. Karin and Ibuki introduce themselves and say they have heard about each other from Sakura. Karin then challenges Ibuki to a fight, saying it will be her introduction. After the fight, Karin says she wants to work with Ibuki's ninja clan and invited her because of the clan's recommendation. Karin says the contract is already approved by the Glade of Ninjas. Ibuki first refuses to sign but is tempted by Karin's promise that her parties always have handsome men.

After the party, Ibuki thinks about all the people she met since leaving her village, especially her argument with R. Mika. She talks on the phone with her friend Sarai as she goes home, happy with her experiences.

Ibuki also appears at the end of R. Mika's story. She refuses Mika's offer of “muscle training,” saying she can't learn from someone who is too passionate and bossy. This makes Mika angry, and she asks if Ibuki listened to her. Ibuki says Mika shouted too much, so she ignored her. Mika calls Ibuki arrogant, but Ibuki says she has worked with the Kanzuki family longer than Mika. Their argument continues as the story ends. Part of this also happens in Ibuki's story mode.

**A Shadow Falls**

Ibuki is at the Kanzuki Estate with Birdie, watching a tag team match between Zangief and R. Mika against Alex and Laura. Suddenly, the screen goes black because of an electromagnetic pulse from Shadaloo's Black Moons. Karin decides to go to New York to find out who caused the Black Moons to activate, and Ibuki goes with her.

Back at the Kanzuki Estate, Ibuki argues with R. Mika while Karin and Cammy talk about how to stop Shadaloo. Then Shadaloo agents, including Decapre and Marz, attack the estate. After beating them, Karin warns Ibuki and Mika to stop fighting or face punishment.

During the first mission to enter the Shadaloo base, Ibuki and Mika keep arguing until they face Balrog and Ed. Balrog has one of the chess pieces that control the Black Moons, taken from Zangief. Ibuki fights Balrog first but can't beat him with her ninjutsu. Mika tries next but also fails. Then they team up and win. Ed tries to stop them with Psycho Power, but Ibuki uses a smoke bomb to distract both. Ibuki and Mika take the chess piece and escape, meeting Karin and her butler Shibasaki again. Karin takes the chess piece and goes ahead, while Ibuki and Mika wait for a rescue helicopter. Karin returns with Chun-Li, and they are chased by Abel, who is brainwashed by Bison's Psycho Power. Zangief knocks Abel out with a Spinning Piledriver and flexes his muscles. Ibuki is disgusted, but Mika is impressed.

In the final fight against Shadaloo, Ibuki is scared to jump from a helicopter because of her fear of heights. Dhalsim pushes her out anyway. During the mission, Ibuki and Mika fight Shadaloo soldiers and watch Zangief fight Satsuki. Ibuki worries and tells Zangief to watch out for Satsuki's sword, but the sword breaks when it hits Zangief's muscles. Ibuki is last seen with the other fighters, watching Shadaloo's defeat.

Shortly after S.I.N.’s fall, Juri confronts Bison to avenge her family, but he overpowers her with Psycho Power, rips out her Feng Shui Engine, and leaves her for dead. In an abandoned S.I.N. lab, she discovers the Feng Shui Engine Alpha. She then meets Kolin, disguised as Helen, who offers her a chance to join forces, but they’re interrupted by Balrog searching for S.I.N. agents. Eager to test her new eye, Juri fights him until Ed pulls him away to discuss a plan. Later, C. Viper tells Juri she’s only free because she’s not the main threat and warns her about Shadaloo. At the Shadaloo base, while searching for data, Juri insults F.A.N.G. about being Bison’s second-in-command, prompting a fight that ends with his poison clouds forcing her to retreat. Realizing their true motives, Juri calls Kolin and accepts her offer to take down Shadaloo.

Shadow Falls

When Rashid and Azam meet Charlie Nash and Helen, Juri arrives by kicking the door open. She looks at the others on her team and chooses to fight Rashid, though he doesn't want to. Juri beats him easily, and he tells her to stop. Juri threatens to kill him if he doesn't fight seriously, so Azam steps in to protect Rashid. Helen stops the fight and talks about the danger of the Black Moons. She shares a plan to stop Shadaloo. Juri likes the plan and joins them.

In Brazil, when Cammy defends Decapre by attacking police officers, Juri shows up on a motorbike and crashes into an officer. She picks up Cammy and Decapre, finding the situation funny. Later, Juri watches with amusement as Cammy and Decapre (who is controlled by Psycho Power) fight, until Cammy knocks Decapre out. When Vega arrives and beats Cammy, Juri steps in, calls Vega a pervert, and mocks him. She fights him off, and Vega leaves for now. Juri takes Cammy back to Russia with her team to plan their final attack on Shadaloo.

During the final attack on Shadaloo, Juri and Decapre fight Shadaloo's soldiers. Decapre saves Cammy from Vega's claw. They work together to fight the other Dolls, who are still controlled by Psycho Power and F.A.N.G.

In his character story, Urien is in the Secret Society's lab with Dr. Woo, checking the progress of the G Project. He looks at the creation called Eleven. Woo says Eleven can make copies of itself, and with this, they can create many strong fighters. Urien wants to fight Eleven to see how good it is. After beating Eleven, Urien says it is a failure. Woo nervously apologizes. Urien tells him to speed up the program to make it better. Woo agrees and thinks about his own plan.

Then, Urien meets Gill's secretary, Kolin, who uses the name Helen. He asks for her report. Helen tells him about Shadaloo, led by M. Bison, and their plan for world domination called Operation C.H.A.I.N.S. She also says they want to bring back Charlie Nash's body and need the empty vessel Eleven from Urien's lab. Urien worries about her actions and calls her obsessed with reviving "the mud doll." Helen says Charlie's wish for revenge on Bison and his fighting skills will help their plan. Urien knows the council will push back, but he is willing to pay the price to fit his own plans. Helen is impressed by Urien's research, which goes beyond what the council agreed. Urien angrily tells her not to ignore the council's concerns. He agrees to give her the empty vessel she needs to bring back Charlie, and she thanks him.

In the abandoned S.I.N. building, Urien finds out that another of M. Bison's vessels is in someone's hands. He is confronted by C. Viper, who questions him and thinks he might be the next leader of S.I.N. after Seth, even though Urien is actually the President of the Secret Society. When C. Viper keeps questioning him, Urien attacks her with Aegis Reflector. She dodges, but he keeps using it many times, forcing her to run away. Urien calls her a useless bug and decides to name the place inside the abandoned S.I.N. building.

In China, Urien pays Balrog in cash as a down payment to get data on Operation C.H.A.I.N.S. He also gives Balrog a reward for beating Necalli. Balrog notices a blank check, but Urien says it's none of his business. Balrog accepts the payment and says Urien must be a big deal to offer such a big down payment. This makes Urien angry, and he scolds Balrog for questioning the deal. They fight, but Balrog is no match for Urien. Urien tells Ed to use his power, but Urien stops it and is interested to see that Ed has Bison's Psycho Powers. Balrog asks how Urien knows their real plans. Urien coldly tells him not to let this happen again and walks away, thinking only about destroying Shadaloo. He says he will wait for the right time.

Other character story appearances:
Urien also appears in Balrog's story, where Balrog accepts the payment without trouble.

In "A Shadow Falls," Urien is against Shadaloo and their plan to use the seven Black Moons to boost Bison's Psycho Powers. He has an ally named Helen, who recruits a revived Charlie Nash, Juri, and Rashid to stop Shadaloo. Urien arrives where Helen and the fighters meet and angrily scolds Helen for making plans without telling him. He calls Charlie a "clay doll" and says he came to test Charlie's strength because Urien helped bring him back to use against Bison. Urien fights Charlie and wins but tries to hurt him more. Rashid stops him, saying Charlie has suffered enough. Urien calls Rashid a "commoner" and tells him to get his hand off him. He uses Aegis Reflector, making Rashid step back. Helen tells Urien to calm down, and he leaves, saying he will watch them all with great amusement.

Later, Urien criticizes Helen for failing when he learns Charlie cannot kill Bison.

In the prologue story, Guile saves Abel, who is undercover, after F.A.N.G finds him out. Guile stops the fight before F.A.N.G can hurt Abel more. After a fight, Guile figures out that Shadaloo is behind the missing hackers. F.A.N.G escapes and warns Guile he will pay for interfering. Guile tells Abel to be patient and not to chase after F.A.N.G, as it could be a trap. In a flashback, Charlie tells Guile not to get too angry because of his hot temper. Guile understands and knows to keep his heart strong but his mind calm as they spar. Back in the present, Guile and Abel work together to find the missing hackers, noticing that former S.I.N members are being taken. They find an empty S.I.N lab and see Juri there. Abel asks Juri what she is doing, but she teases him and runs away, saying there is nothing important in the lab. Guile and Abel learn that Shadaloo's next plan is Operation C.H.A.I.N.S, which shocks them. The lab starts to fall apart. Abel almost gets crushed, but Guile helps him escape, saying he does not want his friends to die.

Back in China, Abel is glad Guile saved him. He senses Vega nearby and fights him. Vega warns Abel about the "stage of death" before running away. Guile tells Abel that fighting on the battlefield means staying in control to survive, and they will be the ones to win in the end.

A Shadow Falls
In the main story, Guile's boss, General Byron Taylor, is looking into the Black Moon that exploded over New York, causing blackouts and loss of signal. In New York, Guile and Chun-Li find all four Shadaloo leaders. Guile tries to stop Chun-Li from fighting but fails. Chun-Li is knocked down by M. Bison and almost defeated when Cammy saves her and helps her escape with Guile.

Later, Cammy talks to Guile about the seven Black Moons and their link to the missing hackers. She gives Chun-Li one of the keys to the Black Moons. Charlie, now alive again, fights Guile to get the key. Charlie beats Guile. Guile angrily throws a Sonic Boom, but Charlie absorbs it. Charlie takes the key and leaves with Rashid and Azam.

Guile is asked by Karin Kanzuki to stop Shadaloo and their plans. Zangief, who has a key, gave it to a friend in India, so Guile and Zangief go there to get it. When they get the key, they are attacked by Balrog, Ed, Santamu, and other Shadaloo soldiers. They fight back, but Ed gets the key, which was hidden in Zangief's chest hair, and leaves.

Guile flies a helicopter during the first attack on the Shadaloo base and meets Charlie again.

When they return to the Kanzuki Estate, Guile is happy to see Charlie. They capture Abel, who is controlled by Psycho Power. Charlie uses his power to remove Abel's Psycho Power. As Charlie leaves to join Rashid and Kolin, Guile gives him back his dog tag.

During the final fight against Shadaloo, Chun-Li and Guile face Bison. Charlie appears and fights Bison. Charlie sacrifices himself trying to kill Bison while Guile watches helplessly. The sacrifice does not work because Bison survives. Rashid shuts down Operation C.H.A.I.N.S, letting Ryu finish off Bison. Guile escapes the explosion with Ryu and Chun-Li and reunites with the team, knowing Bison is finally gone.

Other Prologue Appearances
In Chun-Li's flashback prologue (during Street Fighter Alpha 2, before Street Fighter Alpha 3), Guile and Charlie meet Chun-Li, who is chasing Vega. Guile asks where Charlie is, but she won't say and attacks him. After Guile beats her, she disappears. Guile meets General Byron Taylor and tells him Charlie is already dead. As they leave, Kolin hides in a tree branch, disgusted by them because they destroyed her home during the war.

At some point, Abigail became the strong and tall enforcer for the Mad Gear Gang, even stronger than the Andore Family. His job was to steal cars and sell them illegally. His first customer was Bred, who later had his car destroyed by two heroic street fighters.

**Final Fight**
In 1986, Abigail was the fifth lieutenant in Belger's gang, in charge of the Bay Area of the city. When Haggar's daughter Jessica was kidnapped by the gang, Cody and Guy took a shortcut through the Bay Area on their way to Belger's penthouse. There, they met Abigail, who said:
"Hey, cool down. She must be having a good time with Belger!"
Cody rushed to save Jessica from Belger, leaving Guy to fight Abigail. After a tough battle, Guy defeated Abigail.

A decade later, in 1996, after the events of Final Fight and Belger's fall, Abigail supposedly left his life of crime and opened a mechanic's garage in Metro City Bay Area called "Abigail's Scrap Metal." He hired former Mad Gear members J, Axl, and Roxy, who also lived at the garage.

Thinking his monster truck was missing, Abigail wandered around crying and making different vehicle sounds. Ibuki, Zangief, Juri, and Vega found him and were confused and insulted by his behavior. His bad vehicle sounds were mistaken by Ibuki, Vega, and Zangief as fart noises, pig sounds, and boos. He said he felt like a "flat" tire, which Juri thought was an insult about her chest size. Only Alex recognized one of Abigail's sounds as a 6.5 liter V8 Turbo Diesel engine, the engine of his truck. Still, they fought because Abigail wanted to release his anger.

After the fight, J, Axl, and Roxy arrived and reminded Abigail that he had let them borrow the truck for the day. They teased him for forgetting this, making Abigail angry. He threw them all into the truck and then walked away calmly.

**Other character story appearances**
Abigail appears in Cody's story, where Cody confronts him for parking his truck illegally and beats him in a fight. In Lucia's story, she defeats Abigail because she thinks he still works with Mad Gear, as Mike Haggar asked her to do. Abigail angrily tells her he now runs his own scrap metal business. Roxy and Lucia tease him about his black face paint, which got ruined in the fight.

In Poison's story, she visits Metro City Bay Area to find a replacement for Hugo in her wrestling group. Poison tests Abigail's strength and, after beating him, gives him a passing grade so he can go on tour with her to become a wrestler. But Roxy says Abigail is too busy with his business, so Poison leaves him alone.

In Akuma’s story, he faces Gen once more and emerges victorious, though Gen criticizes him for abandoning his humanity. Akuma seemingly kills Gen, only to witness a vision of Ryu rejecting the Satsui no Hado, which frustrates him. Necalli then challenges Akuma for his soul but loses, attempting to devour him. Akuma escapes from Necalli’s stomach using the Mudo Tensho. Seeking out Ryu, Akuma engages him in a Satsui no Hado versus Mu no Ken battle, defeating Ryu but sparing his life. Wondering if anyone can truly match him, Akuma listens as Ryu, smiling from the ground, vows that their fists will continue to speak from opposite sides. Akuma departs, leaving their next encounter to fate.

In another appearance, Akuma features in Kage’s story, set before his battle with Necalli, after realizing Ryu’s rejection of the Satsui during *A Shadow Falls*. After Kage confronts Sagat, Akuma becomes his next target, as Kage seeks to prove Ryu is nothing without him. Akuma dismisses Kage as a soulless shadow of his former host. When Kage mocks Akuma for holding back due to his beliefs in the laws of heaven, a battered Akuma retorts that Kage understands nothing beyond endless fighting. Akuma finishes the fight with a Houten Seikengeki punch, making Kage vanish, and wonders if this is the path Ryu has truly chosen.

After Balrog rescued Ed, he took him to the Shadaloo Base. Even though Ed was safe, he kept having bad nightmares that made him grow into a teenager too fast. Ed and Balrog then went to India, but Ed was still troubled by his nightmares. Suddenly, a fortune teller appeared behind Ed and warned him that hard times were coming. Balrog later met Guile and Zangief and asked Ed to help fight them.

After Shadaloo fell and Bison died in A Shadow Falls, Ed and Balrog hid near a waterfall in New Zealand. Ed had another nightmare and was almost taken over by M. Bison's spirit. Ed fought off the spirit and stopped it from taking control. He left the tent they were sleeping in to go somewhere else. Balrog woke up and asked what was wrong. Ed said he was scared that if they stayed together, Balrog would get hurt. Balrog said Ed was too weak to hurt him and told him to shut up and follow orders. Angry, Ed said he was not weak and that Balrog was nothing without him. He told Balrog to go away while remembering better times when Balrog trained and praised him. This led to a fight between them. Balrog said he couldn't hurt Ed, but Ed won. Balrog then showed sadness by crying quietly, hiding behind his usual tough and angry attitude. He didn't want Ed to leave and cared about him. Ed also cared and left his only friend and father figure behind.

Months later, Ed grew into a strong young man. He said he would control his own future and set out with new friends. He became the leader of a new group with logos like Shadaloo's.

**A Shadow Falls**
In A Shadow Falls, Ed helped Balrog get Zangief's control key, but Ibuki took it during their first attack on the Shadaloo base before Ed could use it. After Bison was defeated by Ryu and Shadaloo was destroyed, Ed was seen walking away with Balrog.

**Other character story appearances**
- In Urien's story, Balrog tells Ed to use his power, but Urien stops it easily. Urien seems interested that Ed has M. Bison's Psycho Powers.
- In Charlie Nash's story, Nash finds Ed and questions him about Shadaloo. Ed uses his Psycho Power to hurt Nash and push him away. F.A.N.G tries to take Ed back to Shadaloo but Ed escapes.
- In Balrog's story, Ed helps Balrog fight F.A.N.G and then they go to China to meet Urien. They meet the ancient Necalli, who tries to eat their souls but disappears after Balrog defeats him. They return to Shadaloo base where Balrog plans to betray Urien.
- In Falke's story, Ed rescues Falke during A Shadow Falls. After starting Neo Shadaloo, Ed spars with Falke but loses. He says she shouldn't have been rescued if she was strong. Ed decides to rescue others and get stronger, and Falke joins him.
- In Seth's story, Ed and Falke meet the revived Seth, who mistakes Ed for Bison because of his Psycho powers.

Kolin used to be a soldier in the army of her home country, which was destroyed in a war. She was the only one left from her unit. She wandered into the cold tundra and collapsed next to a dead flower in the snow. Gill appeared and asked her name, but she said she had none. He asked about her country, and she said it was gone. He offered to create a new Country of God where she could live if she wanted. A butterfly started to hatch from a chrysalis on the dead flower.

Kolin is sitting outside Nash's tomb, reading the Book of Miraha, waiting for him to wake up and thinking about her past. Guile walks by, looking for Nash. Kolin tells him to be quiet because her "little brother" is sleeping nearby. Guile says Nash was like a brother to him too. Kolin says family and friends are useless because they die and leave you sad. Guile tries to enter the tomb, but Kolin attacks him. Guile is surprised and asks if she was once in the military. Kolin beats Guile and then disappears.

Byron Taylor appears and tries to tell Guile to move on because Nash is dead. Kolin, hiding nearby, calls them disgusting dogs. She blames men like Taylor and Guile for causing wars like the one that destroyed her home. She thinks again about her past and the time she met Gill. Now, Kolin says Nash has a higher purpose than any soldier and should feel honored. She goes into the tomb to get ready for his awakening.

Other character story appearances:

- In Charlie's story, Kolin was the one who revived Charlie Nash's body. This scene was also shown at the start of *A Shadow Falls*.
- In Rashid's story, she talks to him online using the name "honeysunnygilly" and an ice crystal picture. She tells him about a man in Shadoloo clothes fighting nearby.
- In Urien's story, Urien lets her use Eleven's body to bring Charlie Nash back to life.
- In Gill's story, Kolin prepared for Gill's fight against G, which was shown live on video. Urien watched angrily and forced her to bring Gill to him. The two brothers fought for power, and Gill won.

*A Shadow Falls*
Kolin brings Charlie Nash back to life using Eleven's body from Urien's lab. She plans to use Nash to stop Shadaloo because he wants revenge on Bison. While Nash is still weak, Kolin, using the name 'Helen,' gives him the tough job of taking down his best friend, Guile.

After Nash deals with Guile, Helen says she also got Rashid and Juri to help fight Shadaloo. Urien attacks Nash to test him but Rashid stops him from killing Nash. Urien tells Helen to prove Shadaloo is really defeated. Before they go into Shadaloo to stop the Black Moons, Helen uses a power to charge the green gem on Nash's forehead to keep him alive.

After failing to stop the Black Moons, Helen gives Rashid a riddle from his friend. The answer will stop Operation C.H.A.I.N.S. She asks Nash if he has killed Bison yet. Nash says no, and Helen gets angry. She complains she worked hard to bring him back and points out his new body is decaying fast and he is really dead. Nash surprises her by saying he already knew this and leaves to do the mission his way. Helen is last seen comforting herself by reading a prophecy about Gill from the Book of Miraha while watching the city being destroyed. Urien scolds her for failing.

In the mid-credits scene after the story ends, Helen kneels before Gill and tells him Shadaloo has fallen and Bison was defeated by Ryu. She says sorry for failing with the Nash project. Gill stands up and asks her to come with him, calling her Kolin. In a flash of ice, she changes into her usual look from *Street Fighter III*. Kolin looks at Gill with loyal respect as the credits roll.

Menat appears behind Ed, warning him about his fate and that he and another person will face hard times. After battling Ed, she warns him again before disappearing. Later, she meets Oro and tries to share her predictions, which he already knows. Her crystal ball then reveals M. Bison. She is confronted by lower-ranked Shadaloo soldiers and Aprile, and after defeating them in annoyance, she warns them about Bison’s fate before making her escape.

In other appearances, Menat first showed up in Ed’s character story in the same role, though their fight wasn’t shown as she wasn’t playable at the time. She appears in G’s story, sent by Rose to fight him, but after being humiliated in defeat, she asks Rose to avenge her. She is also seen sparring with her master Rose in Rose’s story. When Rose returns home exhausted after battling G, Menat decides to help her relax with a nice bath.

Zeku’s story kicks off with a brief history of the 600-year-old art of Bushinryu, but after passing it on to Guy, he’s ready to branch out and create a new martial art. His search for students leads him to the Kanzuki Estate, where, in his younger form, he meets Ibuki. They fight, and afterward Zeku invites her to join his new order, but she dismisses the offer, disappointed by his true age. He later approaches Karin with an offer of his services; though she initially declines, Zeku insists, listing the many ways a ninja can be useful “in these globalized times.” Karin requests a demonstration, and after losing to him, she’s impressed. Zeku leaves, telling her to call when needed. Later, he reflects on how his evolved art could benefit modern society and decides it needs a name. After rejecting “Shin Bushinryu” in favor of an English title, he considers names like “Striders” but remains undecided.

In another appearance, Zeku shows up in Cody’s story, offering to help manage the local government. Cody challenges him to a fight to test his skills, but after losing, declines the offer, explaining he can’t involve shady work as Metro City’s mayor. This takes place before Lucia’s story, around the time Zeku departs in her narrative.

Yoshinori Ono once showcased a Brazilian stage in the original Street Fighter V while wearing a Blanka costume, sparking speculation about Blanka’s return. However, this turned out to be the debut of newcomer and fellow Brazilian fighter Laura. Blanka instead received a profile on the official Street Fighter V site and was later confirmed as a playable character in the game’s third season of DLC fighters.

In his character story, Blanka is selling “Blanka-chan” dolls in Brazil when he meets Laura, who accidentally steps on one. After defeating her, Laura apologizes and calls Sean, who suggests Blanka try selling the dolls in Japan. At a Japanese arcade, two schoolgirls spot the dolls inside a machine, prompting Blanka to angrily shake it and claim Blanka-chan is cuter than the rat-like dolls inside. His frustration breaks the machine, and he regrets it, joking it wouldn’t survive a day in the jungle. As he tries to leave, Sakura arrives, recognizes him, and hears his apology. She then suggests putting Blanka-chan dolls in the machine, which makes them widely popular—though Blanka remains unaware.

In Sakura’s own character story, Blanka’s “crazy” arcade incident is also referenced.

Mike Haggar clears Cody of all charges, resulting in Cody becoming the new mayor of Metro City. Freed from imprisonment, he finds the mayoral role dull and monotonous. However, he secretly views this position as a chance to personally eradicate crime in Metro City — both through direct action and administrative measures — just as he and his predecessor once did.

While riding in a cab with his assistant Marlowe, she informs him about a delayed appointment. Frustrated by his apparent inattentiveness, she urges him to improve his conduct as mayor, mentioning that Mike Haggar had asked her to support Cody. Suddenly, Cody halts the cab upon spotting a monster truck parked illegally. He discovers the owner is his old adversary, Abigail. After a confrontation, Cody warns Abigail about the illegal parking, and Abigail immediately recognizes him, much to his surprise. Cody expresses his determination to enhance Metro City's quality of life and bring happiness to its citizens by eliminating "trash" like Abigail.

Cody reflects on his journey from vigilante to prisoner, and now to mayor of Metro City. He then senses someone nearby — Zeku appears. Zeku offers to assist him in managing the local government, but Cody challenges him to a fight to test his abilities. After defeating Zeku, Cody declines the offer, aware that his position requires transparency and no underhanded dealings. Marlowe arrives and reprimands Cody for engaging in street fighting, especially since he damaged a streetlight during the battle with Zeku.

Other character story appearances:

In Lucia's story, which follows Cody's, he meets her after his fight with Zeku. They spar, with Cody losing the match. Impressed by her skills, he recalls their previous collaboration against criminal gangs.

In Poison's story, Cody spars with her during her visit to city hall and is defeated. He promises to spend time with her once his mayoral term concludes.

One day, after experiencing nightmares about M. Bison, Ed came to Falke’s rescue, and together they managed to escape Shadaloo. The two teamed up to find others like themselves in need of help. Later, after founding Neo Shadaloo, they sparred, with Falke noticing Ed’s inefficient movements and wondering who had taught him to fight. When Falke won, Ed realized she could have escaped on her own, impressed by her strength. However, Falke admitted she would have been trapped and wasting away in Shadaloo without his help. Seeing Ed’s determination to save others and grow stronger, Falke agreed to become stronger alongside him.

Falke first appeared in Ed’s character story as an unplayable member of Neo Shadaloo. In Seth’s character story, the two were confronted by the revived Seth, who mistook them for Bison.

G is a mysterious figure who calls himself the "President of the World," aiming to unite everyone under his leadership. He starts sharing his vision on social media, but gains little traction until Rashid discovers his videos and helps spread the word. Later, Menat challenges him on Rose’s orders to test his abilities, predicting him as "The Fool" in her fortune cards. After defeating her, G continues his mission. In Rose’s story, she battles G and foresees a catastrophic event, likening it to "a giant glacier falling into the ocean," something G himself understands. Eventually, Gill interrupts one of G’s livestreams to confront him, defeating him but failing to deter his plans involving the Gate of Harmony to unite humanity. In his arcade ending, G is shown shaking hands with Dan Hibiki in Japan, Hakan in Turkey, and Elena in Kenya, as they walk together followed by a massive crowd.

Before his DLC reveal, Sagat didn’t make a physical appearance in Street Fighter V, likely to maintain character balance at the time. In Rashid’s character story, Abel mentions on social media that he found Sagat hidden deep in the mountains and wonders why the former Shadaloo king was there. In the Lair of the Four Kings stage, during F.A.N.G’s fight with M. Bison in his own story, the statue of F.A.N.G is replaced with one of Sagat, since it takes place before Sagat’s replacement in Shadaloo.

Sagat became a playable DLC character on August 6th alongside G. He owns a pet tiger named Willa Maiu (ウイラメーウ Uira Mēu), whose full name, Phicit Willa Maiu (ピチット・ウイラ・メーウ Pichitto Uira Mēu), means “victorious courageous cat” in Thai. Sagat found him as a cub and simply called him “Maiu” (“cat”), but as the tiger grew, the name felt too plain, so the village children gave him his full name.

In his character story, while training, Sagat is tormented by the Satsui no Hado. He sees Namupun in a demonic form urging him to “kill them,” possibly other fighters. Sagat overcomes this dark urge by unknowingly tapping into the Power of Nothingness. Around the same time as Kage’s story, he begins resisting the evil energy, following Ryu’s path, and notes that Kage lacks the heart of his former host Ryu despite having different strengths, due to Kage’s nature as a soulless being before the shadow demon moves on to Akuma.

After finishing high schooland starting university, Sakura now works part-time at an arcade called Plaza Capcom, but she wonders what choices she needs to make to be happy with her future. After a match with Karin, Sakura asks why Karin always picks fights with her for no reason. Karin says fighting Sakura is the best way to test her skills. Sakura says they are not kids anymore and questions if fighting is the best use of their time or if getting stronger is the right way to live. Karin asks if Sakura would feel the same if Ryu was there. Sakura gets excited and asks if Karin has seen him. Karin says she saw him during a recent crisis when she called fighters from around the world, and she believes Ryu is still training.

At work, Sakura wishes she could see Ryu again but knows she must keep her part-time job and can't travel like before. A customer tells her someone is "going crazy" at the arcade. On her way home, Sakura thinks about her life and future when she runs into Ryu. He says Karin called him because of Sakura. After a fight to help Sakura relax, Ryu praises her for getting stronger and more mature. Sakura asks Ryu about his life, saying that no matter how strong he gets, he will grow old and die, and wonders if that is the right life for him. Ryu asks if she means he should take a student to pass on his skills, but says he is still training and can't do that yet. Sakura says she meant having children to create new bonds in life. Ryu says he never thought about it but sees it as another kind of strength. Sakura agrees and thanks him, now knowing what she wants in life. Then, a little embarrassed, Sakura quickly says she is not planning to have children right now.

Character story appearances

Sakura appears at the end of Karin's story, where Karin warmly welcomes her back to the Kanzuki Estate. Karin says she was happy to hear from her steward that Sakura wanted to fight her in a friendly match. Sakura says Karin hasn't changed, and the two get ready to fight.

Sakura is last seen in Ibuki's story, where they talk on their cellphones. Sakura tells Ibuki about Karin's party invitation, which Ibuki hasn't read yet. She also says she can't go to the party because of a schedule conflict before hanging up.

At Karin's party at the Kanzuki Estate, Karin mentions Sakura because Ibuki is one of Sakura's friends.

In Blanka's story, which happens around the same time, Sakura steps in when Blanka accidentally breaks an arcade machine. After the fight, Blanka apologizes, and Sakura tells the arcade manager to put Blanka's "Blanka-chan" dolls inside the machine.

Sakura appears again in Dan's story, which follows Blanka's. She follows her former master Dan after he breaks the arcade machine.

In Akira's story, Sakura clears up a misunderstanding where Ibuki thought Akira was a boy and a stranger. Akira explains to Ibuki how she met Sakura during the events of the Rival Schools and Street Fighter Alpha series, when she was looking for her older brother Daigo Kazama and sided with Edge and Gan. Because Akira is a strong street fighter, she fought Sakura to test her skills. After that, Sakura wanted to spar with her and told them that her rival Karin had planned a girls' tea party at the Kanzuki Zaibatsu (which explains the invitation Ibuki got). Sakura wanted to reunite with Akira after a long time. Later, they spend time together at the tea party and a beach party at the Kanzuki private beach. Sakura notices Akira has overcome her fear of water and says someone taught her how to swim properly. Ibuki thought it was Akira's boyfriend who taught her. Sakura asks what she should do next until Karin challenges Akira to another fight, which Akira accepts with support from Sakura and Ibuki.

In 1996, E. Honda went on a gourmet trip with Hakan while searching for new disciples. First leaked in July 2019, E. Honda, along with Final Fight’s Lucia and Poison, was later confirmed as a playable fighter in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition. In his character story, he tries to teach guests like Laura, Rashid, and Ryu proper post-bath manners at his bathhouse. With many female visitors, including Menat, Juri, R. Mika, and Ibuki, he decides to turn it into the ideal business. In other stories, holograms of E. Honda and Hakan appear together as opponents in Alex’s story, and he also shows up in Ibuki’s story when she recalls the good people she’s met.

Gill appears in Kolin's flashback in her character story, where he meets a younger Kolin, who is sad because she lost her hometown in a war. Gill is also seen at the end of A Shadow Falls. Helen, who is actually his secretary Kolin, tells him about Shadaloo's destruction and M. Bison's defeat by Ryu. Gill says that even though the ending is different, he knows his own plans and starts to go somewhere. Urien has an alternate costume based on Gill.

After Shadaloo falls and Bison dies in A Shadow Falls, Gill and his secret group continue with their plan. His secretary Kolin asks him to have a match against G to test his strength and show his efforts to the world through live streaming. He successfully shows himself to the world, but this makes his brother Urien angry. Urien forces Kolin to bring Gill to him, and she agrees reluctantly. Gill quickly defeats Urien, who gets very angry about losing. Gill says he lost because everything in the prophecy is already written. Urien says he wants to destroy the cursed prophecy.

Gill scolds Urien, saying his time as a replacement will end. This makes Urien mad because he thinks it is an insult. Gill keeps saying Urien will never be his replacement or serve any purpose because Gill is the one who will fulfill the wishes of the Secret Society as their Emperor, a dream that has lasted two thousand years. Even though Urien is furious, Gill tells him about the long-awaited wish he needs to fulfill. The prophecy between them as brothers and their followers will end, and Gill lets Urien live wherever he wants. Gill leaves without care while Urien keeps calling his name in anger.

Ryu is shown meditating in a dojo during a storm, with only a lit candle providing light. As the storm gets stronger and lightning flashes, Ryu's shadow on the wall, made by the candle, changes into the shape of Kage. Kage urges Ryu to give in to the Satsui no Hado and says that without it, Ryu is just an empty shell. The scene then changes to look like the first fight between Ryu and Sagat, but this time Kage replaces Ryu. They fight, and Kage easily beats Sagat. However, Sagat is unhappy because the one who beat him is not the real Ryu. Kage suddenly disappears, and Sagat understands what Ryu is going through.

After fighting Sagat, Kage appears behind Akuma. Akuma first thinks it is Ryu but then sees it is a "soulless silhouette." Kage teases Akuma, and they fight. Kage thinks he has won and mocks Akuma, saying Akuma's law of heaven holds him back. But unlike Sagat, Akuma is not badly hurt. Akuma mocks Kage, saying it only cares about strength and fighting and does not understand. Akuma then hits Kage with a Houten Seikengeki punch, making Kage disappear. Afterward, Akuma wonders if Kage is really the path Ryu has chosen.

Back to the first scene, Kage angrily insults Ryu and tries to force him to give in. Ryu says he won't deny Kage exists, but he can't accept that they are the same. He also says he wouldn't be fighting back if they were. They fight on top of Suzaku Castle. Ryu says he isn't fighting to win, but he isn't fighting to lose either. After Kage beats Ryu and mocks him one last time, Ryu says Kage can do whatever it wants. If it wants to corrupt him, it can. If it wants to leave, it can. Kage is upset and confused, asking why Ryu isn't afraid. Then Kage disappears because Ryu is no longer affected by the Satsui no Hado. He has defeated it by using the Power of Nothingness.

kpiPresumably during the Slam Masters series, Lucia met Haggar and trained with him at the gym. There, she unknowingly showed her flaming ki for the first time, surprising both of them.

Final Fight 3
Lucia is a young and small female detective in the SCU (Special Crimes Unit) of the Metro City Police Department. She interrupts Haggar while he is talking with Guy to tell them the city is under attack. Lucia wants to thank Haggar personally because he once cleared her of a false corruption charge. She joins forces with Haggar, Guy, and a mysterious street fighter named Dean to fight and defeat the Skull Cross Gang. This gang became the new main criminal group in Metro City after the Mad Gear Gang was destroyed.

Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition
Lucia was first leaked as a character in July 2019. She, along with E. Honda and Poison, was confirmed as a playable character in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition. This is her first appearance in a Street Fighter game and her first playable role since Final Fight 3.

In her story, she is making instant ramen noodles when Mike Haggar visits her. They remember their past mission against the Mad Gear gang. Haggar asks her to check out a scrap metal house owned by Abigail, thinking he is still part of the Mad Gear gang. Lucia fights and beats Abigail. Later, she realizes Abigail is no longer with the gang when Abigail and Roxy mock her for ruining her face paint during the fight.

After Cody's story, where he fought Guy's master Zeku and was scolded by Marlowe for breaking street lights, Lucia has a sparring match with Cody and wins. Cody remembers the old times when they worked together against the Mad Gear gang. Lucia realizes Cody is the same mayor who deals with shady people at night by getting involved personally.

When Lucia returns home, she is shocked to find she forgot to eat her ramen noodles, which are now overcooked.

She also appears in Poison's story. Lucia is told that Mayor Cody was attacked by a thug, referring to Poison. But Cody says he and Poison had a “conversation” about their past. Cody asks Lucia to help with other tasks alongside Poison. Later, Lucia has a heart-to-heart talk with Poison after learning Poison had a falling out with Hugo.

Poison is one of the few people Rashid stays in touch with. On August 1st, 2019, a leak revealed her, along with E. Honda and Lucia, as playable characters in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition. In her story, Poison returns to New York after a major fallout with Hugo. She reconnects with Roxy and meets Abigail, now running a scrap metal shop, and challenges him to test his strength. After defeating him, she tries to recruit him to replace Hugo for the tour but gets scolded by Roxy for being selfish. Realizing her mistake after seeing Abigail’s work, she apologizes. Later, she visits city hall to spar with Cody, now Metro City’s mayor. He promises to hang out once his term ends, but Lucia interrupts, thinking Cody was under attack, only to learn it was a nostalgic chat. Noticing Poison’s sadness over her split with Hugo, Lucia talks to her about it. Poison leaves feeling down, but when Hugo returns, she gives him another chance as her partner.

Confirmed at the end of the Capcom Cup 2019, Seth returns as a playable character in Street Fighter V, this time with a female design as the default form. After the events of Street Fighter IV, the remnants of Seth's biological brain were placed into the body of one of the Dolls, specifically Doll Unit Zero. In the character’s story, Doll Unit Zero is activated by Juri on behalf of an unknown party, but unexpectedly awakens with Seth’s personality, surprising her. The system inside warns of errors in the personality integration, causing Seth to become mentally unstable and obsessed with defeating Bison. Later, Seth confronts Ed and Falke, mistaking them for Bison, and fights them. Falke realizes Seth was drawn by their use of Psycho Power, making him see only Bison’s shadow. With that, Falke and Ed leave, while Seth, still delusional, continues to proclaim superiority.

In August 2020, Akira was announced as the first Rival Schools character to be playable in the Street Fighter series. She appeared in the fifth season of DLC fighters in Street Fighter V, with a planned release in Summer 2021.[3] According to Street Fighter V's director, Takayuki Nakayama, Akira knows Sakura Kasugano (who was a guest fighter in the original Rival Schools game), just like Sakura knows Hinata and Natsu.

Akira visits the Kanzuki Zaibatsu on her motorbike and meets Ibuki, who mistakes her for a boy and a stranger. This causes a problem because the estate was hosting a girls-only tea party, which included Ibuki and Akira (though Akira didn't know about it). Ibuki fights Akira, thinking she is trying to enter without permission. However, neither of them is hostile beyond the fight.

Akira wins the fight, and Sakura arrives to clear up the misunderstanding. Sakura takes off Akira's biker helmet to show Ibuki and introduces her. Both Akira and Ibuki apologize for the confusion. Ibuki then introduces herself to Akira and asks Sakura how they met. Akira explains that during the time of the Rival Schools and Street Fighter Alpha series, she met Sakura while searching for her older brother Daigo. Akira had sided with Edge and Gan, and because Sakura is a strong street fighter, Akira wanted to test her skills.

After this, Sakura wants to spar with Akira. It is revealed they are invited to Karin's tea party at her Zaibatsu to reunite with Akira after some time. Karin arrives and recognizes Akira as Daigo Kazama's sister, the famous gang leader. She lets them enter the Zaibatsu for the tea party. The girls enjoy desserts, and Akira shows she likes sweets.

Karin then challenges Akira to a match, which Akira accepts respectfully. The prize is an invitation to a beach party at the Kanzuki private beach. After Akira beats Karin, the girls have fun at the beach party Karin organized. Sakura notices Akira has overcome her fear of water. Akira says someone taught her how to swim, and Ibuki mistakenly thinks that person is her boyfriend.

Sakura asks Akira what she wants to do next. Karin challenges Akira to another match, and Akira agrees, encouraged by Sakura and Ibuki's support.

A message from Dan, using the name "IamSaiKyo," pops up on Rashid's phone during his character story, where Dan excitedly mentions finally paying his phone bill. He also shares summaries of each DLC fighter in the shop, along with alternate outfits and stages, occasionally breaking the fourth wall, like referencing Street Fighter III in Alex’s summary. Dan appears as a simulation fighter in Alex’s story alongside E. Honda and Hakan, and shows up with Hakan and Elena in G’s Arcade Mode ending. As the first DLC character of Season 5, Dan’s Arcade Mode ending depicts him defeating G with a Dankukyaku, helping him up, and then posting a video of himself training G, Blanka, Fei Long, Sagat, Vega, Balrog, M. Bison, Seth, Gill, and others as students of his Saikyo-Style dojo—only for it to be revealed as a delusion after losing to G, who is left unimpressed by his weak challenge.

Although Dan took part in a championship tournament using his Saikyo-Style martial arts, his dojo still does not have many students. Later, while visiting Plaza Capcom, he heard two schoolgirls arguing about whether something was cute or creepy. When he looked closer, he saw they were talking about dolls in a claw machine that looked a lot like his best friend Blanka. While pressing his face against the glass of the claw machine, Dan accidentally broke it, causing the two girls to run away. Dan had to leave quickly but was chased by Sakura, who heard the noise. After Dan defeated her, she told him that if someone else caught him, he could go to jail for breaking the glass and fighting with Plaza Capcom workers. After talking with Sakura, Dan realized the Blanka-chan dolls were really based on Blanka. Sakura said the dolls were popular with teens for a while. This gave Dan an idea, so he borrowed money from Sakura to go meet Blanka in Brazil. After sparring with Blanka there, they reunited, and Dan praised Blanka for the dolls' popularity, giving him a Blanka-chan doll. Dan then decided to start his own business by making and selling his own dolls called Saikyo-boy dolls (the mascot of Saikyo-Style). He hoped this would attract teenagers worldwide and get them to join his dojo to learn Saikyo-Style martial arts. Blanka often told him the Blanka-chan dolls are not creepy and that Dan does not really use Saikyo-Style. But Dan didn't mind and kept praising his Saikyo-Style as super cool until his voice echoed at the end of the scene.

Eleven is an earlier prototype of Twelve, created by the Secret Society’s Dr. Woo using reformed plants instead of animals. Urien has Eleven transform into a copy of himself to test its abilities and inflicts heavy damage on it. Unsatisfied, Urien instructs Dr. Woo to improve it. Later, Kolin repurposes the prototype (the same one Urien fought, though several others are seen in the lab) as raw material to resurrect Charlie Nash.

Luke lived alone with his father, Robert Sullivan, whom he first saw as quiet and reserved. Robert had been a military chaplain turned soldier, but later moved to a rear support role to raise Luke, who was born sickly. Thanks to his father’s care, Luke recovered and led an active life, though he often got into trouble with questionable friends. Robert rarely disciplined him, but when he learned Luke had met a drug dealer, he struck him and demanded he cut all ties.

One day at a shopping mall, Robert found a terrorist IED while with Luke. Calm and confident, he evacuated his son and the nearby shoppers before confronting a suicide bomber, stalling for time by talking to them. The explosion took Robert’s life, but his actions saved many others. After his father’s death, Luke learned more about Robert’s past and the sacrifices he made to raise him. Motivated by both respect for his father and anger toward terrorism, Luke enlisted in the military to face conflicts around the world.

Arcade Mode Ending
Luke battled his way past numerous opponents, including Dan Hibiki, before finally facing his former superior, Guile. After defeating him, Luke announced he was no longer in the military, but accidentally gave the wrong discharge date, prompting Guile to make him write a formal apology.

Like Father, Like Son
Luke remembers how, as a child, his father sacrificed himself to protect him and others during a terrorist attack at a mall. Inspired by that moment, Luke joined the army to fight terrorism, but later grew dissatisfied with military life. During training, Guile paid him a visit and challenged him to a quick sparring match, revealing he’d been asked by Luke’s CO to address Luke’s desire to leave the service. When Luke shared his doubts about his path, Guile told him about others like him who found new ways to fight. They toasted to the late Robert and to Luke’s new journey, with Luke hoping to become a man like his father.

Oro is an ancient, mysterious hermit searching for a fighter worthy of inheriting his unique fighting style. Of Japanese descent, he lives deep in the Amazon Jungle, dwelling in a cave alongside his many pets, including a turtle and a dog. In his younger days, Oro worked as a martial arts instructor in Japan. Around 1908, when he was about 50, he moved to Brazil with a friend. Unfortunately, life in Brazil didn't go well, and over time he became a recluse. During his isolation, Oro devoted himself to practicing and mastering the secrets of an esoteric martial art called Senjutsu. After several decades, he finally mastered it.

Oro occasionally leaves his cave to visit town. Once rumors spread about his mastery and existence, many disciples showed up at his doorstep for the first time in years — but they all quit, unable to endure the extreme training needed to master Senjutsu. Bored, Oro set off on a journey — traveling the world aboard a jumbo jet — to find the perfect successor for his style. This was the first time he'd left Brazil since moving there.

**Prologue: Wandering Hermit**
Oro spars with Rose to help her refine her Soul Power, though she ends up defeated. She tells him about G following Bison's death. Oro understands why she's sparring with him because of G. He also likes the button-up shirt she's wearing, which makes her laugh. As Rose leaves, Oro senses someone nearby while chatting with his pet turtle, Yamasen, and decides to have dinner with Dhalsim.

While cooking curry, Oro talks with Dhalsim about how Bison's Psycho Power still haunts the earth, even after his death. They spar together, and Dhalsim remarks that battling the old master was unpredictable. Oro explains how Bison's Psycho Power negatively influences others, and as long as such people exist, the apocalypse could still happen. However, Oro believes that someone capable of causing such destruction could also be taught to prevent it — someone with a pure heart and mind, who seeks power not to destroy, but for its own sake. Before he can say more, Oro notes the curry is ready and ends the discussion. Though Dhalsim wants to learn more, Oro insists younger people like him should discover it on their own.

Oro appears in Dhalsim's character story, where Dhalsim is teaching a policeman named Mahesh how to breathe fire. Oro makes his presence known, calling Dhalsim's abilities odd and sparking a discussion about spreading skills versus perfecting them. Soon after, Oro leaves, sensing another interesting person nearby.

In Karin's character story, her butler Shibazaki tells her that a “Senjutsu master who fights with his dominant arm sealed” has been spotted in India. He also mentions this might be the same hermit her grandfather fought for three days a hundred years ago. Karin travels to India to challenge him, but Dhalsim informs her Oro left a few days earlier. Karin reflects that strong power attracts, so they'll meet again someday.

In Menat's character story, Oro is visited by Menat, who warns him about future predictions — though Oro says he's already aware of them.

In Rose's character story, Oro meets with Rose to discuss her premonitions during her travels.

One evening, Oro visits Dhalsim's home for dinner and a friendly chat. They ponder the meaning of power in martial arts and street fighting. Oro loosens Dhalsim's solemn zeal and steadfast devotion by showing examples of ki and the Satsui no Hado. The sennin theorizes with Dhalsim about how these powers, despite their different origins, share a common source. Though the Satsui no Hado and Psycho Power seem malevolent, they ultimately share a neutral ground and a capacity for good, just like all forms of power. He notes that these boundaries are as interchangeable as seas and skies, fish and birds — yet as complex as a Calabi-Yau structure — and warns that labeling power as evil only strengthens it through ignorance. Oro leaves Dhalsim with the wise lesson that knowledge of such power should be used for good, especially when evil seeks to abuse it.

In 1995, Rose takes on a new apprentice, a young Egyptian girl named Menat. She makes cameo appearances in Nash’s character story as a queen card, in Menat’s story as a silhouette, and in Menat’s ending in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, as well as in G’s character story. Rose joins the playable cast in the fifth season of DLC fighters. In her story, she spars with Menat, who loses their match, then decides to travel the world while leaving Menat to stand guard. Along the way, she meets Oro to discuss a premonition she’s had. After defeating G, she foresees a troubling future involving him despite his good intentions. Returning home exhausted, she reflects during a bath on preventing the world’s destruction—not by looking forward, but by reaching out to her past self to avert disaster. In Oro’s story, Rose spars with him and loses, tells him about G, and is revealed to have given Oro his short-sleeved Hawaiian shirt with white crane designs before leaving.

This marks the end of Street Fighter V, concluding the Shadaloo Saga with the complete defeat of Bison and the downfall of his organization, Shadaloo, thanks to our heroes and the assistance of a new group called the Secret Society, led by Gill, who becomes the new villain in Street Fighter 3. As for Shadaloo and Bison, more will be revealed in the events of Street Fighter 6, the latest game in the franchise and a sequel to Street Fighter 3.

I hope everyone enjoyed this read and is ready for the next part!
